CookBook Reviews

Changed to subscription for previous app payers

yuiiwae on

Netherlands

I was looking for a good digital recipe and was really happy with the app’s functionality so I was happy to pay for it, and recommended the app to friends as well. Now the company decided to change to a subscription based model, while I get this is the way to go it feels unfair for old app users, who already paid for the app, to have to pay again to keep using the same functionality I previously paid for. Once my account is no longer usable, I will unfortunately have to find a new recipe app. I don’t think this is the way to appreciate your old customer base.

Dissapointed :(

Anna_Pru on

Netherlands

First I used another app for my receipes, then they started to ask a monthly fee. So I start looking for another app with one time fee instead of monthly. I was really happy with Cookbook. So I am very dissapointed the same thing is happening again: I have to pay extra to use the app the way I did. It feels unfair. It would be decent if you let the old subscribers keep their functions and only let new people pay the new prices.

Great cookbook app

I really like this app. One of the most used apps on my phone. It helps me to have enough variations in my meals. And I now have a central place for storing all my favourite recipes. Importing recipes from the internet is super easy. Just copy the website URL and the app does the importing for you.

LOVE IT!

Absolute love the app! I use it everyday. It is the perfect way to organise your recipes and has a very clear and nice design. The only thing I miss is a special section for the kitchen equipment needed and to be able to make sections in the ingredients list to seperate the salads and dressing ingredients for instance.

I love this App!

I am so glad I found this handy, user friendly, beautiful to look at way to store and access my favorite recipes. I use it every day.

Outdated layout and no support for other languages

Hamza……. on

Netherlands

The cookbook app is probably too expensive for everything that it does. For over 5 euros you get a layout that is not really optimized for an iPad because it feels like a stretched iPhone app. The way you create recipes is not optimal and not intuitive. The images on the App Store are genuine, but still doesn’t give you a proper overview of the app.

Best cooking app ever

Elisabeth3321623 on

I don’t often write reviews (in fact this might be my first one), but I LOVE this app. I finally have one place where I can store all my recipes, whether they’re online or in cookbooks. If they’re online, you just simple copy and paste the url and the recipe is imported. If it’s in a cookbook, take a photo of the page, and the app automatically distills the information it needs. Brilliant! The additional options of being able to make meal plannings and grocery lists make it even better. Oh and did I mention that it’s beautiful too?

Editing problems

I’m Having lots of problems when I need to edit a recipe. For the rest it’s pretty good.

Forget all other recipe manager apps

If you want to digitalise your cookbook recipes this is the app for you. It it hard to exaggerate how good this app works for me. At first it took some getting used to. I think there have been updates too that made it even better. Now I can unclutter my house.

Super app!

There is a lot to like about this app: + modern design + very easy to use + great import from WEB-sites + strong OCR functionality + extended tag system for sorting your recipes + multiple timers during cooking + clear menu representation during cooking + elegant menu planner and shopping list + cross-platform availability and syncing + no subscription costs
