I’ve had cove for 2 years. It not perfect but it does the job. I never had an issues with the app but now it’s not opening on my phone but working on others. I reach out to tech support and no one could answer why it’s having this issues. I reach out to Apple and they said I need to reach out to cove. At this point I’m going to end my service; what is the point of having a security service I can’t use.
Absolute trash
I’ve had Cove security for 3 years now and it has been an absolute nightmare. The app rarely connects to cameras. I have to press the doorbell every other day just to get the camera to connect in the app and now I can’t disarm the security system from the app.
Glitchy, Vulnerable, Unreliable
If this company exists 5 years from now, I’ll be very surprised. I’ve had this for about 2 years now, and they’ve yet to update their app a single time.

- Sometimes it works.
Cons:
- When watching recordings, the audio has never, not even once, matched the video. Sometimes, a person’s lips will move and I won’t hear them speak until, literally, 15-30 seconds later. I have 1000mbps internet (for those who don’t know, this is considered unnecessarily fast internet—25 people can stream Netflix simultaneously with zero issues).
- At least weekly, the app won’t allow me to remotely activate or deactivate the alarm, even when I have 5 bars.
- At least monthly, often 2-3 times per month, I won’t even be able to log into the app for several hours.
- At least 2-3 times per week, I can’t watch recordings for several hours. The app will freeze.
- My 14-year-old nephew hacked into our system using his laptop. Thinking it was a fluke, and refusing to praise him for it, he did it again a few days later while he was at school, using a different computer. My password consists of 16 randomly generated characters and it isn’t written down anywhere. Only my entire handprint can unlock my safes (where my password drive is stored)—there are no keys, and I have wired cameras and motion detectors in the areas that my safes are stored. I was sitting in the living room reading when I suddenly hear through the camera’s, “TOLD YOU I COULD DO IT! You owe me $100!”.
-There’s numerous other issues that I won’t get into, because I’d literally have to type a novel.

In a nutshell, this company, their apps, and their cameras are trash.
App gets stuck in Armed Away
It seems every time I set my unit as Armed Away, the app will show that it’s still away when it’s unlocked, or I cannot unlock from the app and am forced to trigger the alarm.
Might become a dealbreaker for me after being a multiple year customer if they don’t get this fixed
Time for an app update
I can’t review any camera footage unless it was from an alert. I use to be able to on just my iPad but now it’s not even working and I need proof of something. Smh
Poor customer service
My cove system was disarmed and they sent police to my home not only do we have to pay for an unnecessary call, I cannot get an English speaking person to cancel my subscription! I am tired of paying for something I don’t use and is worthless

Of course, you don’t know what you don’t know until you need to know. We had an instance recently where we believe someone may have been inside our house. When I went to pull video, to my surprise, the door had been tampered with. (No push alert?!) and additionally, no cameras were working. No alert. Nothing.

100% agreed with all other reviews. Hence this is the first app review I write. I’m the one to blame however that month after month I continue paying for this system; the app never works although I pay the extra fee for this function specifically. I attempt to activate the alarm from the app while sitting 2 feet away from the panel and the Wi-Fi router and it still doesn’t function due to “network connection error.” The worst is when you attempt it multiple times, it then activates 30 minutes later when you think it didn’t go through, which can trigger the alarm. Completely unreliable. After almost 2 years with the system, we’ve actually had it armed less then 10 times because I never know if it will function or trigger false alarms when I don’t know it’s on.
