CrossCountry Reviews

Best train app in the U.K.

As the title suggests and I’ve used several

Easy to book

And no booking fee either. Saves your frequent/latest enquiries.

Don’t bother just use Railboard or Trainline

Old app interface was really good for tickets and I always used it even though I often don’t travel on cross country. New upgrade isn’t worth downloading. Tickets now have loads of info so it’s hard to see through multiple tickets and the ticket doesn’t open in the app but in a browser so if you don’t have signal it often doesn’t work.

Quick and easy to use

I have been using this App for many years now. Very happy, always a smooth process, all you need when your mind is busy planning the trip.

Ease of Use

The app is easy to use but would like the option to select seats.

Wrong info

This app says you can get “cheap train tickets” but this is clearly a lie as a trip from Newcastle to Manchester is over £40?! Wish these companies would stop lying and stop charging customers extortionate prices for a 2/3 hour journey which should be like £15 or something max. Hope you all get renationalised soon!

I have no idea why people use train apps that charge a booking fee. This one is so easy to use, and it’s free. The only gripe I have is when I specify a forward facing seat I never seem to get one. Maybe that’s out of their control.

Five star as always

This app is excellent - just can’t fault it. Very easy to use and all the information clearly displayed Would recommend to everyone

Terrible service

JBham0408 on

United Kingdom

Not only are the tickets extortionate the service you get is terrible aswell! I buy a monthly season ticket to get to and from work not only does it cost £260 but honestly 50% of the time the train is delayed or cancelled. Furthermore cross country deliberately make it annoying to claim compensation on your ticket to deter you from refunding, like why do I need to go to another website and register to make a refund when you have a App? The delays have made train travel so inconvenient it’s a shame there is not a rival service that does the same route or is use them. Also, tell me why there is so little carriages for a service that goes to Birmingham new street (the second biggest city in the UK) 50% of the time I have to stand on the train because it’s full. To summarise this service is poor and the only thing good about it are the staff which are underpaid because of greedy corporations like this.

Simple process

I’ve used a few ticket apps and this is the best. Recommended.
