Used to be a great app but it’s not accurate anymore; shows 0 data usage for cellular & wifi for months now. No updates in years; seems to be abandoned.
As of January 2020 needs an update - no longer reporting correctly under current iOS.
The badge stopped working, making the app pretty useless. And when you click on the link for support, it takes you to an expired webpage...Worked well before that. I deleted and re-downloaded, all my saved settings were gone, but the badge still does not show up.
The The Data Usage Pro (DUP) app sometimes gives erroneous results. For example, on 02/27/19, my cellular service provider recorded a data usage of 86,638.8 KB. For the same period, the total usage show on DUP app jumped from 2,552,800.19 KB to 4,053,349.06 KB, indicating a usage of 1,500,548.87 KB. Sometimes the DUP app will display a correct total monthly usage but show an incorrect value for the amount for the daily usage. Please correct this problem. The app is installed on an iPad 3 running iOS 9.3.5 and the version is v6.4
I’ve been such a long time user of this app and for many years it closely reflected my actual data usage, but sometime around iOS 10-11 it stopped being accurate. The monthly cellular reports stopped. I can only jump to my WiFi usage from previous months. Secondly, I’ve tested the accuracy by downloading tv shows and movies, noting my “before” data usage and “after” with the file size of what was downloaded. From this, I can clearly see that it’s not giving me an accurate result. It’s reporting my usage way under, which now that I’m back on an unlimited data plan doesn’t matter too much, would have gotten me into some overage with my provider before. It doesn’t seem to grab data being downloaded within apps. I am thinking of deleting this app and walking away from it soon, unless a total revamp is done.
It keeps me in check for data overages, which happen less and less now. It’s simple to use and gives me an indicator of when something’s burning more data than the indicator of battery usage shows as a drain.
I have used this apps for years without issues. Since the latest update, V6.3, my iPad Air2 and iPhone 6 have been rebooting automatically every 60-90 seconds. They are running on iOS 11.1.2. The reading for knowing this app is a part of the issue is that I have done the following testing and the removal of the app has been the solution: 1. I rebuilt my phone. I set it up to be manual and the first app loaded was Data Usage Pro. Immediately, the phone went back to its rebooting state. I removed the app and the rebooting stopped. 2. I fully reset the phone again and restored it from backup. Again, the phone started rebooting. I removed the app and the rebooting stopped. 3. I came to my iPad and the same issue was occurring. I removed the app and the issue stopped. This needs to be looked into. I would have filed this as a case on the web site, but the site had no email address or means to submit a case.
Great app for monitoring data usage.
Very Helpful!
