Davis Cup FAQ
Is Davis Cup free?
Yes, Davis Cup is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Davis Cup legit?
🤔 The Davis Cup app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Sadly this is a truly bad app. Hard to use. No useful info. Throws you out if you click on anything. Gets stuck - I was trying to look at match scores and it took 4 goes to get off the doubles. No info whatsoever about the start time for the first match tomorrow- and I don’t care if it’s Malaga time or GMT+ or Atlantic time. Just a big zero.
Very complicated
Very complicated to navigate this app. I want to see the current scores, schedule and past scores. Please update. Plus, the fonts are so light and small they aren’t legible. Very bad app!!
Can I give 0 stars?
Probably the worst sports app ever...impossible to find all the live scores from the various matches and the scores listed are all incorrect..they list the same player on both sides...how could they spend all this money on Davis cup and not ensure a great app for fans to follow the scores??
Not updated for the 2019 Davis Cup
One week prior to the event there is nothing on the App?
Will only connect thru wifi
UPDATE: After writing the following review I checked the app info and saw that the app hasn't been updated since last Sept., 7 months ago--so it's apparently a conflict with a more recent iOS update.
This latest and lamest of updates will not connect through my LTE cell connection. It also fails in an especially irritating way: "The internet connection appears to be offline" message with a Retry button. Hitting Retry puts you in an endless loop with the error message, so you can't even view the app itself until you get back in wifi range. All other apps, btw, work perfectly at the same time. Very disappointing!
Much more cumbersome
Awkward
Hard to follow live scores.
Hard to tell if a 0-0 rubber is underway in the first match or if it hasn't. For example, a match in Europe may be 0-0, but the first singles match has started, while a 0-0 match in Canada v GB won't start for a few more hours. I clicked into one match and it said stats will be available after the first match starts. There was no back button only a "Retry"
which kept me on the same page.
I eventually had to close the app and reopen to check scores in a different first round tie
The main reason I use the app is to follow live scores. More clicks necessary and harder to move between matches to check live scores
This app has much more information and news, but much harder to use.
I go to the website instead of the app
Good start, needs work
Lots of info is packed in, but it's not easy to access it. I experience two main problems. One is the tiny text. It's mostly illegible. You can't rotate the screen to make it larger and there's no control to increase font sizes. On my iPhone 5, it's just painful to use. The second issue is ease if access to current match info. There's no place to quickly grab info about the next round if matches. You have to dig through the app and piece it all together.
Looking forward to updates! :-)
Good!
Great app it just crashes sometimes when I go to news section
Fan
Needs searchable draws of groups besides WG; Historical player and result info, it is a pain to have to use the website with app and go back and forth.
Fantastic for a fan
Quite crisp in its presentation, well designed, and legible even if slightly busy in the live match screens— which I can't actually fault them for, since it has literally all the match information I could ask for. It tracks not only unforced, but forced errors, which even the ATP/WTA app doesn't do yet; and it gives a short description of how each point finished, which, again, is way ahead of the other official apps. And retains scores for all the rubbers throughout a tie, even after they have been completed. Refreshes quite regularly, so engaging when tracking a match live.
I found this an excellent tool for tracking this event. I don't think it needed to be this good to be more than sufficiently functional, but I am delighted they went as far with it as they did. I do wish it had an option that allowed you to track scores from the matches in the lower-tier Groups live, but I can see where that could be a boondoggle, and this is the very first iteration of this release. I'll hope they eventually get around to including an option for that, but I really am very happy with the app as is. Well done, and thanks.
