Super underrated! Not only does the app have some fantastic free instruments, but it also has hundreds more online that you can download for this app. An awesome open platform.
This is a nice simple sample player. I’d love to see a filter stage and a more flexible envelope, but it does what it does well. There have been some frustrating bugs that affected usability, but the developer has been shipping lots of bug fix updates, so it’s rapidly improving.
Keeps saying invalid email address even though I put in several valid email addresses to try. Can’t use without registering and can’t register.
At first, I kind of hated this thing. Lots of bugs and crashes. But this developer continues to send updates to the app to make it better, and it sure has. Dont unzip folders from pianobook if you’re on an ipad, it works best in DS if you use the zipped folders from pianobook. I have hope this app again, thanks to dev for keeping those updates comin!
When I opened the app after downloading it, I realized that it’s not supported with voice over, and I’m totally blind so this makes it even harder to use the app. I’ll change my rating to 5 stars if this gets fixed. Thanks.
There have been some hiccups, but it’s updated frequently. It’s a great alternative to kontakt on iOS since many free piano-book libraries support ds, including Dan Keen’s orchestral swells.
I cannot WAIT for this to be a nice and stable sampler in the future! Currently, it’s pretty meh though.
The pitch bend wheel on my keyboard has no function with these sounds. I see no option to get it to midi learn the function. This is such a massive oversight of such a basic thing. Other than pianos, all the sounds available to this app require pitch bending to sound good. How in the world can an app like this not allow that? If I’m missing something I will be happy to learn about it and give this app a better review.
Although the sounds were ok to start off with, if you HOLD some notes long enough on all instruments (that are provided free) including the default piano, you will hear glitching, clicking and some strange after (ghost) sounds. If this is any indication of what you would get from a purchased (at $10 a pop) sampled sound, then I can’t recommend it until at least all the free samples are cleaned up. And hopefully there are not any problems with the purchased samples. Also, the program crashes when sometimes selecting a different sample from the file menu. FYI, I am using an iPad Pro for primarily for music. I have no problems like this from other programs that use samples.
