I’ve used a few similar apps , I can honestly say this one is absolute rubbish , why ?. Where do I start really , inaccurate time keeping , doesn’t log you off when you click it too , sends you texts plus emails plus notification all about the same thing , why someone thought it necessary to do that is beyond me , I don’t know maybe they want you to pick up your phone every 5 mins to read the app’s notifications maybe the app is lonely and needs attention, for someone like me who drives heavy vehicles all day I really don’t want to be annoyed every 5 minutes by an app that keeps saying “ don’t forget to log out at 2:30 pm “ 5 minutes after you have started your shift , then reminds you every hour the same thing
The app is good but could really do with some updates, additional features and customisation. I use deputy for my company of NDIS providers (small team of 15). It would really be helpful if there was an area to write client progress notes (shift notes) that was set out better than the “News Feed” section. My staff don’t need to be notified every time someone posts their notes but they do need to be able to read what the previous staff members have written. They could write comments on the shift itself but there’s a character limit, it’s not as user friendly and it’s not compiled well enough for maintaining records (at least not without creating more work for admin, aka me) and the journals only the manager can see etc. I’ve looked at the integrated software options but it’s just additional steps and accounts my staff would need to make which would cause frustration. It’d be better if it was all accessible from Deputy itself. I also don’t love that when an open shift is claimed the shift itself moves down until the other shifts are claimed. This has caused some confusion with staff claiming the wrong shifts. I understand that’s more their fault for not reading the times correctly but it would make it a whole lot easier if the shifts stayed in the same time block order regardless of if it’s open or claimed, but still remained highlighted “Open” (I hope that makes sense). Another comment is that in all honesty, while the app is (mostly) easy to understand it’s boring to look at. It would be nice if there was better customisation. For example creating different colour selections for shift times within locations once claimed by staff (example 7am-12pm yellow, 12pm-7pm pink, 7pm-10pm blue, shifts unclaimed completely red etc). Or colour coding staff and their claimed shifts. Anyway, I hope this helps. Thanks for reading my ramble.
Needed to download this for work, and it was initially working. But now it keeps logging me out, when I attempt to log in, it logs me back out again. It won’t allow me to start my shift, even an unscheduled one so I’m constantly letting my supervisor know that I’m acting at work and she has to fix it up for me. Very annoying.
I tried for five days to get a solution to an issue and got nowhere. I can’t trust the information presented to me in Deputy as it’s not showing staff pay totals properly, nor is it adding up hours worked for the stress profile correctly. I’ve tried opening it in different browsers and nothing changes. We’ve just renewed our subscription for a year but I’d rather forgo all of that just to change rostering apps.
Is possible this app can show the duration of the break time? So the worker can control their break time & the administrator can monitor staff break time.
THIS APP COMPROMISED MY PASSWORDS AND DATA WAS BREACHED! DO NOT USE A RECURRING PASSWORD IF YOU NEED TO USE THIS APP! POOR SECURITY AND HAS PUT PEOPLE AT RISK
Could we see the red dot for iOS users on the app icon when a shift has been assigned to us please.
Every week lately another update - if it's not done, the app is failing. Update version notes say nothing, not helpful Huge waste of time. Developers: What is happening?!
I’ve used Deputy at two different workplaces. It’s an easy app for a beginner to get used to. I would like to see a widget for the iPhone home screen developed, where a standard employee can see their upcoming shift for the day and at what location. Currently I believe the widget available is only for supervisors, if I am correct.
