I wanted to like this app. Deseret Book is unresponsive to customer feedback (except by placaters). The interface is cluttered, lacks clarity. Unable to arrange the order of books. Interface alludes to ability to favorite books but can’t to do it. Unable to completely delete a book; it stays on the interface in the 'cloud.’ Including audio books in the same app without the ability to separate is further interface disgrace. Have separate app for audio books. If Deseret is going to have a book app, do it right. Do some looking at Kindle app to see how they succeeded in making a beautiful, sensible interface, and then emulate it. App needs re-doing. If unable to make this app good, then make all of Deseret's ebooks available on Kindle.

The study guide has gone completely blank at least 6 times last year. The start of 2025 is no different. I purchased the D&C study guide last week. I opened it last week and it works fine. I opened it today and it's blank. No text on any page. I have been able to delete the app and download again. That will restore the text, but it's not convenient and I don't think it's too much to ask tonhave it work properly.

I really want to love this app. The content is great, but I have to reinstall it about once a week. My iPhone is up to date so I don’t think it’s an issue on my end. I keep hoping it will get better. I’ve been hoping for the past 5 years at least. I don’t have this problem with any other apps. Why????? But I don’t think anyone in tech will see this review. I’m really surprised the app is so highly rated. It must be the content driving the ratings. If reviews were based on the tech, they would be out of business. Update: Still the worst app platform ever! I have to uninstall and reinstall once a week bc it crashes - just stops working. And you can’t see everything in their library. I love the audio books, but they never promote new content. It’s the same thing over and over. They have 1000’s of titles to listen to. I have to google an author, then type a title of their book into the search to find something new and fresh. Please fix the app, but most of all, please make it easier to see ALL of the content available. Why keep it a secret? People will love the app even more if you give us easier access to ALL the content.

I updated the app recently and have just had issues with it since. It crashes mid chapter and doesn’t even track the chapter properly when listening to audiobooks. I have tried to reach out to support but the link here on Apple goes to a dead page. I hope that the developers will at least see this. I tried to go through the “correct” channels to report, but none were to be found. This app really needs to be updated and is very very buggy. (yes, I am using the latest version of the bookshelf app on the latest version of iOS)

This app constantly stops on Apple. This has been reported multiple times but the makers don’t seem to care because they never fix it. We’re stuck with the app if we want to access Deseret Bookshelf. Too back there isn’t an alternative or we would DUMP it.

The app is so full of bugs that it is barely usable. There are few search features and there is no queue for audio books. You have to listen to one and then go try to find another which is really inconvenient since the app is so buggy. It’s easier to find books online but there’s no reason this app can’t be more like audible and Libby.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I think this app deserves one. I’ve used a lot of book apps before, and this one is by far the best structured one. I love it! It has some of my favorite authors, and great books! The only problem is, it keeps stopping the audio book while I’m listening. The latest update fixed some of the issue, because the app doesn’t complete crash anymore, and it’s less frequent that it stops, but it still does. Sometimes I can just go back onto the app, and press play again, but other times, I completely closes the book. The play controls on the Lock Screen are really unstable as well. If these issues could be fixed, I would call this book app the best one in history! It definitely would earn five stars (I wish I could put ten!) Thank you for developing a great app, I look forward to the next update!

I hate that Split View capability was removed. It has become less useful to me with how I study. I hate it.

Very glitchy. This is new. It used to work great.

I love this app and being able to read good literature but I have not loved the update. It closes on me all the time, I can’t find some books anymore, I have lost many of the books I saved (though my purchased books are ok), I purchased a book that I already had but my library didn’t show it there anymore. I’ve not been happy dealing with the app with the update as I was previously. All that said, I still won’t get rid of it because I have probably read 200+ books on here, I just hope there will be another update that fixes the problem.
