All the choices you need for classic cars, smokes & counter counting. Come on. Do you really need to watch a number till it lands? What good is it when Rosencrantz & Guildenstern argued this with a quarter every morning till it was precedent to step aside Shakespeare’s stage and wonder why.
Great for resolving large amounts of attacks/damage dice. Can you add a function for ‘exploding dice’ like shadowrun?
Would love to see a watch app version for this app.
IMO, The best dice calculator type app for baseball Sims. So easy to set up all the dice rolls you need for the various charts. The only thing I think is missing your support for multiplication. That would allow for some of the odder dice needs of games like Statis-Pro, which needs two base eights dice concatenated.Be even odder classic Sports Illustrated (10-39) could be supported too.
Is at we better if you got rid of the ads and the pay wall or basic aesthetic.
There are many digital character sheets in the world, and many digital dice rollers. However, both get clunky in most higher-level D20 systems where rolls have a variety of circumstantial modifiers and secondary effects that cannot be fully automated. That’s where Dice Ex Machina comes in: Dice Ex Machina’s folder system offers a simple way to craft complex outcomes, and has been a godsend for my play experience. The only failing of the app is that the roll results gray out when any adjustments are made or the results are off-screen (such as in a large folder), losing the ability to confirm whether the underlying roll was a max/min. If this were fixed, it would be the best roller app I’ve ever used.
You can read the other reviews to see how great this app is but I do think it’s missing one very important thing that some other dice got right: the feeling of rolling dice. Of course, no app is going to get this perfectly, because you don’t have physical dice in your hand. However there is awesome suspension when an app will mimic the physical rolling of dice, and you have to sit at the edge of your seat, mentally to wait for the result. This app just gives you the result immediately. Which I’m sure many people appreciate, but an option to have it on or off would just be perfect. Maybe in the future!
This app is absolutely excellent, between the full dice sets, the custom sets to use for rolling character action quickly, and the wonderful interface and function! There’s also a dice calculator, which is really useful for some more complex rolling, especially as a dm as well! The premium is also a one time purchase, and the main features aren’t locked behind a paywall; it unlocks some extra peripheral dice, colors, handy extra dice settings! Something I think would be pretty fun would be to have some different sound effects for dice rolls, like a clack sound, a longer dice rolling sound, maybe a thump sound, but that’s just a fun little quirk I think would add some nice atmosphere, even if it’s just with the premium version. Overall, excellent app! Great features, great premium pricing, and I’ll definitely be purchasing it in the future to support the creator!
Really finds that sweet spot between doing what you need (rolling various dice) without doing what you don’t (noise and animations) The feature that really stands out in this one is that you can group your dice into “sets“ and roll the sets all at once. Perfect for quick NPC creation.
