Dr Diary FAQ
Is Dr Diary free?
Yes, Dr Diary is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Dr Diary legit?
⚠️ The Dr Diary app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Added employer and insisted that EPAs or APAs should be greater than 0 or less than 10
Firstly why put abbreviations and assume I will know what they mean
Secondly why assume that a consultant would have to be doing what I assume are extra or additional programmed activities and not be able to enter the employer without putting a number in
Quite annoying in terms of an assumption than work life balance is not important for a BMA app so you get 1 star from simply annoying me
Good but could be better
The upgrade is good and I have always liked the BMA diary, in this format and the old excel sheet. The new reports section on the app is a big improvement. It would be better though if the monthly report gave PAs per week rather than total PAs. Also, I thought I read that the diary would now allow 15minute activity blocks but I can’t seem to see this. Finally, shouldn’t annual leave count in you PAs?
Just a calendar
I am sorry but I do not find Dr Diary useful. I can do the same thing with my outlook calendar . What it would be a real game changer , would be if it could calculate the PAs for each activity so when swaps and extra activity occurs ( like during covid period ) with the click of a button to know how many PAs were worked in a month/ week. ( like the job planner Allocate does)
Improving
Improving but still so clunky.
You can’t duplicate things so each day has to be entered manually, which is tedious!
Additionally you can’t set the PA rate for some reason.
However it is slowly improving.
Maybe an option for important from a calendar would be possible
MMS
The app is poorly designed. You can not put more than 10 PAs and you add you job details you can not change it even when it is archived.
I have been using the XCEL version of the diary which is very comfortable but difficult to use on mobile.
Just do not download it.
Great app? It took me 4 times for the app to accept my password. Then, the system could not find my employer (the hospital or Trust). As a result I couldn’t proceed any further.
You get an automated message regarding an online form, in case your employer isn’t on the system: well, the form isn’t opening.
In conclusion: a useless waste of time.
No wonder the developer keeps replying-apologising to every single comment!
Poor functionality
1. No option to switch on default view on calendar. Always switches to day mode by default.
2. Unable to log entries that cross over the 24hr period into next day. This seemed to appear for a short while but has disappeared again. Disappointing.
Needs work
The way the application records data doesn’t allow for resident on call (one can manually enter it though). There is no option for whole day activities (you have to specify the hours) and no option for time off (rest) and no option for time in lieu. The feedback link is only for star rating but no actual venue to reach to the developers for feedback. Apart from the videos, there is no searchable Q&A or forum for members to share there experiences in relation to app usage. Also the way the sessions are calculated in Wales is not UpToDate. Thank you for your patience
Easy to use
Generally works well now and generally easy to log work on the go via the app.
Main flaw for me now is that Part weeks don’t contribute to average weekly PA calculations though. This is a problem for averaging out PA as I often end up doing more work than contracted when I am not working a full week, and so this is not captured fully.
Dr Diary
Good for contemporaneous data collection.
Part weeks due to leave need a correction.
Would be useful if the Data could be downloaded into an excel spreadsheet
