Dr. Moku's Hiragana Mnemonics

I'm surprised how fast I started to learn some hiragana. Recommended to get stared easily. What i don't like is that some imaginary recognitions are very weak. And I would also like to be able to listen to music while using the app.

This is one of the best apps for learning hiragana. The illustrations help alot! Though, after watching all the hiraganas the app asks if you want to do the quiz, after you do the quiz the page where you select "learn hiragana" (the apps starting page) is missing. It's annoying. The only way to get it back is to close the app, wait for a bit then open it again. I'm kinda dissapointed with that aspect. I still love the easy learning though! 😊

This app is great! With the humorous images it becomes a lot easier to learn and remember the characters.

It works fine and I was able to learn the characters fast but the quiz crashes after 2-3 rounds all the time. First the characters are not show and when I try to restart it crashes so you have to start all over again.

In less than an hour I knew them all, so what good is this app now? Just kidding of course. It did the trick for me, well worth the modest cost!

This app is really good and you learn quickly, however to us that have bought it and just downloaded the free version, please remove the katakana ad! It is very annoying as it closes my current window and if I am doing a quiz it just close the quiz and I have to start from the beginning again! Great app though! :)

This little software will learn you hiragana really quick, even though some mnemonics are quite far fetched. Maybe thats why you remember them. Great graphics but the quality of the quite noisy audio samples could be improved. Hope to see katakana in future versions. Also, visual feedback when pressing buttons is missing as well as that the status bar is hidden for no reason.

I have a very visual-based memory, and this style of learning just clicked. I’ve tried using other language learning apps and sites in the past but always had problems memorizing the characters. I’ll continue to take the quizzes until I don’t have to think when I see the characters. Thank you for such a simple yet effective tool.
