Meh
First time I tried it and I couldn’t find anything that matched. I have lots of experience using keys so I think the dragonfly wasn’t in the database.

This app is okay but only one photo per species. Not all species are listed. For example, the Chalk-fronted Corporal dragonfly found in Southern Ontario is absent.
Sign in Problem resolved. I wish we could see Range Maps w/o being online. I have Bird apps that have offline Range Maps.
Great app however when I go to use the map function for local species the app crashes (reported but still no fix)
It is great to have such a good app to help identify Odonates in a jiffy. I love the pictures, and the maps are great to help have a quick idea if a particular species could be where we are. Also, the descriptions are helpful in the field.
An excellent resource that I've been waiting for for too long! Wonderful photos, info, and date-specific information - even recent sighting maps for recently-submitted species near me! A couple of notes for improvement: 1) please, please supply clasper/hamule/genital plate diagrams or photos for species in tricky groups like Bluets! A generic adult shot will not allow you to ID many odonates, even if you're and expert. 2) maybe I am ignorant, but I can't figure out how to submit sightings through the app. either this feature is hard to find (should not be) or does not exist, which would be silly. What better medium to collect sightings than through a cell phone app, that knows GPS and time automatically?
This app (and its more mature sister app Birds Eye) are wonderful examples of a new style of electronic field guide harnessing the full power of the online resources available. Using this Dragonfly app, I can find what dragonflies have been reported near my present location. I can see excellent photos and learn details about each species. I can also submit my findings, contributing as a ‘citizen scientist’ to desperately-needed deeper knowledge. I’m already loving the app, and look forward as it matures!
