Description

Dungeons of Aether is a turn-based dungeon crawler designed by Nikita ‘ampersandbear’ Belorusov from the Aether Studios team. Rivals of Aether is known for its intense competition and twitch skills, while Dungeons of Aether allows you to take things at your own pace - but it’s still just as challenging! Every choice you make can lead you deeper into the dungeons or to an early demise. Will you carry out a treasure chest, or be carried out in a pine box?

The combat in Dungeons of Aether uses a dice draft system that ensures each battle is unique while challenging the player to adapt the pool of dice each turn. Use fortune to your favor to defeat your foes, collect treasures and shift the odds in your favor...

Game Features:
- Meet four NEW HEROES from the world of Aether, each with their own unique skills and memorable personalities.
- Play STORY MODE and travel to the steampunk town of Julesvale and brave the sprawling caverns underneath it.
- Explore each DUNGEON BIOME as you dive into Julesvale Mines, the Lava Caves, the Underground Oasis and the Mineral Deposits, collecting revealing Journal Entries along the way.
- Brave the CHALLENGE DUNGEONS if you are looking for true roguelike difficulty to test your skills in the randomly generated dungeons.

Dungeons of Aether Reviews

No exaggeration one of my new favorite games

PyrrhicDisaster on

United States

The writing and storytelling has been enjoyable so far as I’ve gotten but the core battle gameplay is some of the most unique and fun I’ve encountered overall, ESPECIALLY on mobile platform. Really makes every battle feel dangerous, even when doing fine and taking no damage it’s because you thought your actions out carefully on when you can afford aggression and when you need take a moment and let the situation advance and just focus on not getting hurt and building towards a situation where you can use a hard to afford technique that will allow you to snowball the fight. On other occasions deciding you can afford to take a hit to put an end to a fight before it has a chance to spiral out of control against you. TL;DR - If you enjoy turn based combat type games this is a game you MUST try. Cause if you like it, you’ll likely end up loving it.

Please add Artemis to rivals 2

I think she’s a cool character and would make a good addition to rivals 2.

Great game made by great devs

I bought this game on the Steam and loved it so much I had to buy for my phone. I really enjoy it in this format and will forever love the Aether universe. This development team knows what they're doing and I have followed everything since Rivals of Aether came out in early access on Steam. Looking forward to what the future holds for Aether Studios, including Rivals 2!

Lots of fun. Good story, great and unique fighting mechanics. Really hoping for sequel.

Awesome!

Great game. I like the fighting aspect, I haven’t seen any like it, but I haven’t played a bunch of games so. But still really fun if you like that type of gameplay.

Good as always, read if you use airpod

There is a bug where if you use airpod earphones you will only be able to hear the game through your airpods even if you take them off. Hope this is fixed soon as its otherwise a great port, the soundtrack is also really neat!

Good start, but short, and not much of a roguelite

mojosto1 on

The primary mechanic is pretty fun. Randomized dice that have to be balanced to create both offense and defense. Also has several different characters with unique play styles that adds to the challenge. But the game is short, and feels like a rough draft of a game. There is no progression, no character growth, no unlockable skills. It has a lot of potential, but falls flat.

JRPG-style dice drafting

I appreciated the challenge of One Deck Dungeon without particularly *enjoying* the game. It’s too sterile and abstract – just a relentless series of clever puzzles with no personality. Dungeons of Aether also has a relentless series of clever, organic dice drafting puzzles. But the JRPG-styling and narrative do a fair amount of lifting to prevent the game from feeling like a chore. And certainly, there’s room to feel clever when you figure out gear combos that pair well with each character. I appreciate that the game persists gear, and has frequent character switches. I don’t think a truly great dice drafting game has been made yet, but this one’s definitely worth your time if the genre interests you.

Great game

Super fun game, minor issue where camera scrolls up a little after moving it. Kinda annoying but not a big deal

Well designed and fun game
