The EatMyRide tool has elevated the quality of my training to another level. It has left me with the feeling of “ I wish I had found this sooner”. It is very simple to setup using the Garmin IQ app and your garmin device. It displays real time insight to how you are fueling your training and races that can be customized to match your needs. It has allowed me to execute fueling strategies to the gram and better understand nutrition periodization as a whole. The app is easy to use and analyze your fueling afterwards. The app has some really interesting features such as the personal metabolism, glycogen, and race ready metrics that will evolve when given enough personal data that will become even more beneficial.

Not Ready

Art O'Connor on

Has potential but right now is really clunky. Having to plan a route and upload it is not practical day to day. Should be able to just enter a ride time. It may not be as accurate but I would go to the trouble of uploading a route for races or really long days in the saddle. Entering in foods is really slow. The list of foods is really small. No Wahoo integration. TrainerRoad/Zwift integration seems like a no brainer. I will check back in a few months and see if the developers actually listen.

Great app

Mayma13 on

Customer service is very responsive. If you every have any questions they will get back to you super quick ( within a few minutes). The app has been updated and is very easy to work with and set up your plans. Garmin integration is very easy and works great on the road. It’s very easy to add your own items if they are not already in the database. Overall it’s worth a try if you are on the fence.

Was able to log in once, and will not allow me again. Tried deleting, tried waiting… etc.. app needs work

Worth a shot

Lunchbox1121 on

Saw a YouTube video about the app and decided to try it. It’s easy enough to operate and the user interface with the widgets on Garmin is easy to set up and use. The only complaints I have is that I wish there was a way to link TrainerRoad to the app to pull over scheduled workouts AND I wish there was an easier way to add food. The selection of food to plan your meals is VERY limited and difficult to add your own. Maybe make it similar to my fitness pal and allow the camera to take pictures of barcodes or something. Other than that it’s been helpful so far with planning my ride nutrition vs taping my meal plan to my stem on long races

Accurate glycogen fueling recommendations

scottc9 on

Under fueling rides or wrong food choices pre, during or post rides are common mistakes I see with many athletes I coach. Even the national and state champions. Under fueling (especially carbs) is a main contributor when i see athletes not making the anticipated gains from their hard work in training. The carb/fat burn rates in this app are spot on with metabolic lab tests I have for athletes. I love that the planned workouts in TraningPeaks seamlessly migrate into the EatMyRide app for athletes to then know how much of what to eat to fuel their training. I just need to use the workout builder feature in TP and EatMyRide does the rest. Athletes can also use Strava routes, enter a few ballpark estimates and accurate fueling recommendations pop up. Most common nutrition logging apps are sound for team sports or weightlifting where energy burn is much lower than for the volume cyclists need to train. These apps fall short for endurance athletes - especially cyclists - as far as energy needs in my experience. I am excited to be able to add this tool to better help athletes as we start to think about our 2023 goals of more championships.

Last update Broke things

EMILIKESBIKES on

This is a pretty bad app. The developer really needs to start addressing the issues Also update made the app even worse. More broken stuff I wanted to cancel the app Going to cancel aubscription

Won’t let me change ride elevation

Dcdeland on

Thought I would give this app a try, but when I try to plan a ride it won’t let me change elevation on a hill or mountain ride. So when I entered a 43 mile mountain ride (should be 3500 ft of elevation) the elevation reverts back to 0 after trying to manually change. Choosing an endurance rides saying I need 0 g of carbs???? I’m sorry, that is just completely wrong.
