Is edelkrone free?
Yes, edelkrone is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is edelkrone legit?
⚠️ The edelkrone app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
For what this hardware costs, this app should be a lot better. The Timelapse and stop motion features only work with two poses. The normal sequencer is too fast for many Timelapse scenarios. The app shuts you out when you’re not connected, so you can’t watch tutorials or edit sequences on your down time. The app disconnects when you switch modes, so you have to pull batteries and reboot to reconnect. I’m not sure if the sequences will keep running when your phone is disconnected. That said, I’m not sure there’s a better alternative out there.
App is broken
All of a sudden, I can no longer pair to headone units as a pan and tilt combo, only one headone unit at a time. My entire video making setup relies on using pan and tilt on two different cameras. Edelkrone has been wildly undependable lately, first pushing endless software updates that never seem to take and that interrupt the creative process, and now this which is a total dealbreaker. I put in a support request and I’m waiting for a resolution but otherwise I’m gonna sell my entire edelkrone rig.

Works very well
The App has been working very well for me. iPhone 14pro max. I haven’t had any connectivity issues at all and have used it for a good number of weeks now. So far, so good. The only issue I have is if you change the speed and don’t save a pose, it doesn’t change the speed. The speed selected needs to be saved as a pose before the speed will operate at that speed. Intuitively I would think you can change speed to any speed without saving just by moving the sliders, until I saw the sequencer and I think that is where locking in speeds for each pose makes sense.
Drops connection
I spent a lot of money on the slider and the head plus, sad that at the end of the day can’t use the gear, our studio is looking somewhere else for a better reliable solution.
Crashes a lot
After I updated everything the app consistently crashes. Especially when in tracking mode. Very frustrating when trying to shoot something and having to turn clients away.
One of the most unreliable apps.
This app is absolutely garbage.
Constant drops and disconnects, it refuses to save my presets and positions half the time, the sequencer sometimes only plays half the sequence or plays it out of order or just stops halfway through and then resumes for no reason.
Either fix the app or offer a hardwire controller that can link directly into the Jib, this constant one day it works with no problems whatsoever and the next it’s noting but issues and malfunctions is not only absolutely infuriating, but it could potentially cost me my job if I do not get my work done on time because my equipment totally unreliable.
Absolute waste of money, these products.
Constantly Unreliable
I like the app interface and features overall, but the largest problem is reliability. It has connection issues where the slider or head will randomly drop connection.
If the connection drops, the slider will finish its motion, but the head will not. This app needs updates that focus on connection reliability.
Pretty embarrassing given the price of the equipment. Likely trying to push you to buy their wired controller instead - which is unscrupulous. They advertise this as working with an app, but the app is so unreliable I constantly have to watch the app to make sure it stays connected.
Completely useless, waste of time.
Do not use any of their apps in front of a client. You will spend hours apologizing.
Shot all day on a Friday and after exhausting attempts to connect, it finally worked. Came back on Saturday and the app wouldn’t even open...
I’d give them a -5 if I could. Truly disgusting for the price you pay for the device.
