Trying to plot a sequence and the app intermittently fails to remember waypoints. Also pressing return to position camera to first waypoint constantly fails. When under time pressure and the client breathing down your neck, the Edelkrone eco-system has not got your back
To use Edelkrone slider, this app would work great but connecting my phone to the slider is impossible!!!!! Never recognises my device! I have to keep changing 3 different batteries hoping one will work! It takes like 20 minutes to be able to use it. I tried it with different phone, it was not working!!! Super annoyed!!
All of my challenges and issues from using Edelkrone in the field have been resolved. Now feels solid in connection and control. I have not had any issues for many months and the setup in field is now very fast. If only all the companies I deal with could fix their issues so well.
Very unreliable connection between SliderONE v2 and my iPhone XR. Missed golden hour shooting yesterday as I was pissing away my time trying to connect. Same thing today. Wanted to throw the whole lot away - after smashing it with the brick. Anyway, researching for alternatives - once bitten twice shy.
App crashes when setting up and disconnect Blue tooth.
This is a good app in theory but there are so many bugs all the time, this means that I can’t rely on the app to work when shooting. Which renders the equipment very risky to use on shoots. You don’t want to be at a shoot trying to make a stupid app work for half an hour. There were numerous occasions when this was the case or I wasn’t able to get it to work at all. I would also recommend not updating the phones firmware since then the app most likely won’t work, since edelkrone always needs quite a bit of time to make the app work on the newest firmware. Also changing the focus through the focus wheel is very annoying and inaccurate. The app constantly crashes and I have to re-pair all the equipment. There is also no way to save settings/ camera positions for the next use. They all disappear when closing the app or the equipment is turned off.
