This app collects way too much data, requires internet even though that isn’t necessary for the pod to function, and constantly has connectivity issues.
I am on day 3 and the app seems to do something different each day. Last night it said I had no data at all like I hadn’t even been in bed. I watched TV in bed this afternoon and it’s totally confused. I set my bed time at 10pm, and at 10:30pm it’s version of “now” is the “late” setting. Why can’t we set it by time instead of these fuzzy bedtime, early and late blocks that seem to shift and have no relation to what time it is? Yesterday, after being in bed during the day for a few hours, it was saying I slept for 12 hours. I have no idea what autopilot is doing, if anything.
I’m not sure what the issue is but the app does not load the data or even my home page view when I open the app. It either gets stuck at th e view with the 8 or it freezes when I switch tabs between the data view and the home view. It’s been getting worse with today I’m not able to use the app at all. My app is the latest version too
Since they took away the possibility for the mattress to adjust to the body and room temperature throughout the night, I frequently wake up hot or cold. I am moderately confident in the data the app provides. Now the main benefit is I can be cooler in the summer without air conditioning. But without the auto pilot working as it did 2 years ago when I bought it, this also means sometimes I am too cold. I see many other comments like this, I hope they are listening.
Our temperatures have been totally erratic. Mostly way too hot. Set the bed for 88 and its cycles up to 105 and 87 degrees. Was a good product and now between the plastic smell of the new style mattress and the app problem not sure what to do. Can even get into the app to contact tech support. So sad as the product was amazing.
Shortly after my two year warranty period ended, my pod started going haywire and heating my mattress way up in the middle of the night to the point that I would wake up sweating and could not fall back asleep. For a while, I honestly thought that my bed had been hacked and that someone was terrorizing me on purpose. As it turns out, the plugs in my mattress are clogged and dirty despite my routine maintenance and following directions about using distilled water and hydrogen peroxide. Eightsleep has not and does not provide any sort of trouble shooting or repair information. All that they tell me is that they will let me buy another mattress cover for $1000. I would never have bought this product (especially at such a high price point) if I knew that it would break down so quickly and that it was a disposable and unrepairable product.
We have 2 8sleeps at our house. Newer and older version, I love it when it works but it’s starting to become an insane hassle daily with the issues with connectivity. I wish it would have a screens and work independently. I would not recommend…. But since I already spent thousands of dollars I will continue to hold 8sleep to their responsibility.
This bed works great when it functions. Great sleep love the statistics. However it seems every two years something happens where it needs to be replaced. The first bed started leaking a week before warranty was up got a new bed and cover in a reasonable time. Now two years later the sensors or apps not working correctly the response has been a 3 week problem with no resolution. Your warranty is only good from initial purchase not from the replacement bed. I think they spent more money on marketing now rather than service support.
Great product. One piece of feedback: please make it so that I can set an alarm with one click instead of two.
