It works and is very good (was: Failed before it started)
Update : After having so much trouble trying to get it to work, and waiting for tech support to get back to me, it decided to work today. And I think possibly it was my fault that it failed earlier. It seems that when trying to connect the mobile app to the computer, the application window on the computer has to be open. The application running in the background (little stream deck icon in the menu bar) is not enough. I think not doing this was why it couldn’t connect before. Now that I’ve got it to run, and configured it for figma, I can say with conviction that the money I will spend on the physical stream deck will be worthwhile. The problem now is that I’m almost certain that 15 keys will not be enough and that I will need the XL. I’ve given it 4 instead of 5 stars due to the fact that I’m not sure if it started working because of what I did or if it was just random. ———- I downloaded this being very hopeful that I could try it out for a few days before getting the 15 key unit. Unfortunately the software wouldn’t even connect to my brand new M2 Mac Mini. The app sees that there is a Mac Mini but when I click to connect, in just sits there and does nothing. I did contact Elgato support but after issuing a problem ticket and assuring a senior technical person is looking at it, there has been no further news. It’s been 9 days since I first logged the call. So, the product doesn’t seem to work, and tech support is slow. I can’t give it anything more than a one star since it is a non starter. I am quite disappointed as the stream deck was in my cart and just waiting for me to click buy.
