INNO Hates New Players

4Cry1n0utL0ud on

United States

I’ve been playing for less than 2 years. I always felt it was a bit of a money grab, but the slower pace of the game helped me decompress. New changes are coming that make it ONLY a money grab for newer players. There is really no reason to continue. I am angry that I spent so much time and money, only to be slapped in the face.

Not as much fun anymore

Lord Cromwell on

United States

The fundamental changes that were made to restructure the game for newer players blew the game up for seasoned players. In the last month there has been a marked decline in the ability to craft troop boost buildings- so now you can’t fight thru the spire or tourneys. There is a shortage of everything critical to craft what ever you need. If this keeps up I’ll have to go dormant- games not worth playing.

Game has become boring and tedious

rsinlaf on

United States

Elvenar was a fine game when it started. Over the years the chapters have become long, boring and tedious. Much more effort has been put into additional features that are best completed if you pay real cash to get ‘extras’. They have numerous times changed how features work and that has made the game harder to enjoy. It is hard to justify continuing to play when new content comes out once a year. My views are those of a long-time player. I would hate to be someone just starting out. The game is fun to start but I would not recommend planning on playing it long term. Just not worth it anymore. But the app works well, it is the game itself that has lost appeal.

Recent mistakes in tallying diamonds

Recently I experienced an extreme miscalculation in diamonds. After a few days of on line discussion, your IT department figured out what had happened. I enjoy very much playing the game, but recent changes (ads) are a bit annoying.

Buyer beware!!!

The game is plenty fun, it only tries to get you to buy items that advance your city too much! To this I say, “You ain’t getting $?”@!!! From me.”

Change the rules in mid game. No thanks

So that’s that on

United States

If you like playing a game in advancing and getting to know how things work and what you’re getting when you upgrade stuff, that’s all great up until they change the rules on you and making impossible for you to get the items that you need, so what you need to pay money no thank you! I’m pretty sure if they don’t change it. Lots of people will be leaving I like playing games and having the rules changed in the middle.

The game itself

If you like watching paint dry this is the game for you.

Good game overall

I've been playing this game on mobile for several years. It definitely takes some patience if you want to play for free, but it is easily doable. There are the normal constraints of having too many buildings and not enough space to place them all, so you really have to compare the buildings to decide which is worth it. Some of the recent updates have been worrying but there have also been some excellent changes. Mobile now has most or all of the desktop features, and there is a fantastic search feature to find buildings in inventory, better than what I hoped would eventually be implemented. For the concerning changes, it's mainly about the ancient wonders. There have been updates to the bonuses given by the buildings that makes the rewards scale more consistently to match your town size, which is awesome. However, the resources required for upgrading is now much harder. It used to be relics which you could easily get by fighting an encounter or 2, but now it uses combining catalyst which overall is fine. But every 5 levels it uses royal restoration spells which is the 2nd rarest resource in the game. I have a small stash of it after being in one of the top 100 fellowships, but most players won't have access to it without paying. Still waiting on the new updates to bring more practical ways of getting this resource. Other than that, I love this game, I generally try to check in at least 1x a day although I used to do 2-3x a day.

Hate the new changes.

I’ve been playing this game for a few years. For the most part it’s been okay through that time. Unfortunately recent changes have sucked every last bit of fun that was left in the game right out. First of all they added ads to the game. If there was an ad-free version I would pay for that, but no. Even if you have spent money on the game, you still get ads. Next, the changes to the Ancient Wonders make them borderline impossible to level up anymore. (Unless you’re ready to spend real world money on leveling, then you can do that). App crashes now also. Bottom line: it’s just not enjoyable anymore and they don’t care about player feedback. So many of my fellowship members have left the game due to the changes.
