Die optische Darstellung in Form von Bäumen und Grafiken ähnlich einer Mindmap ist sehr gelungen und gibt schnell einen Überblick über die jeweiligen Wortfamilien. Das erspart mir bei meinen täglichen Recherchen nicht nur viel Zeit, sondern sorgt auch immer wieder für Überraschungen durch Erkennen von bislang unbekannten Beziehungen zwischen den einzelnen Sprachen. Absolute Empfehlung und vielen Dank an die Entwickler!

Great app for discovering the origin of words. One thing that might be improved: When you use keyboard suggestions to type words, a space is added to each word, making word recognition impossible in the app (words are not recognized when they appear with an extra space). In other words, if I start typing the word “suggestion” and accept the proposition from the iPhone keyboard, it is as if it is not at all in the app. I must remind myself to delete the additional space to arrive at this specific word. It happened to me several times that I started typing a word, clicked on the keyboard suggestion, and then there were no suggestions in the app. I thought: “ok, the word is not in the app database”, so I closed it. Thus, it would be nice if the spaces were trimmed automatically. For future development, I’d suggest creating a bank of prefixes and suffixes where you can explore them freely. Another idea is to implement a word builder where you could individually choose words’ building blocks and create a whole word. It would be a reverse process to what we have now (which is also remarkable). For example, if you have the prefix pre, you can choose post and somehow arrive at "preposterous.".

Bin ziemlich zufrieden. Sicher nicht komplett, aber doch sehr umfangreich und für die meisten Enthusiasten absolut ausreichend.

It does everything you’d want from an etymology app.

Very handy, you can search in many languages and the tree diagramm is very simple. No complaints, I recommend it!

Eine sehr gute und interessante App. Ein paar Zusatzfunktionen sind kostenpflichtig, aber das finde ich fair.

Up until about 2 years ago, I had no idea I was on the autism spectrum. I have always loved learning new words and discovering their lore! My mind is not as sharp as it used to be and this app has truly helped my communication skills improve by helping me find the right words to express with confidence! If you’ve lived a life struggling to confidently express yourself, you understand how great that feels. Thank you for creating this resource and for being a part of my journey🤗
