I think the Online Etymology app is simply outstanding. Every word’s meanings and origins is covered in depth with precision and huge interest. The range of views about a word’s origins reveals the hard work of others, and that, at times, certainty cannot be stated. I use this app almost every day and I have never been left unprovided for. It’s only problem is that it is very addictive but that is etymology.
A nerdy word game with no end, I enjoy the etymology app for small bouts of research and curiosity.
This app is gold. Incredible useful for people in the field of philosophy and language. User experience is great. Subscription price is very affordable and certainly a contribution for this great project. Congratulamos to the developers.

I have loved online etymology dictionary for many years. It’s my go to in order to understand words.
Simultaneously succinct and expansive... The most precise online referencing and historical language tool.. Thank you. Based my initial praise on the efficacy of free online search. I anticipated App would be superior. The app is poor and difficult to use. Paid fir full version. I n fact it seems I may have paid for fool version. More information is more readily accessible for free... Disappointing.
The small light font on pale background is quite difficult to read.
I’ve used the web version of Etymonline for years. It was great when there were no ads. Stumbled upon the app version which will allow me to remove ads if I subscribe (I hate subscriptions), but it needs improving. On my iPhone XS Max, the bottom word of the related-word list is frequently cut in half so I can only see the top of the word, and cannot click on it. This needs fixing. Also, as a suggestion to improve the app, the Search Bar needs to remain constantly at the top of the app. Having to go back several times to the first page to start a new search is a nuisance, a repetition we don’t need at all. Fix those 2 things, and I will subscribe and give the app 5 stars.
