I love Exploding kittens!! When I heared they made a new game I was over the moon for it and pre ordered it immediatly. And now that I have played it I want to say the good and the bad about the game : The good : - animated cards!! - cute new avatar costumes! - more card sets to play with !!! - the visual graphics like when it explodes and the fire - the music is really cool. The bad : - sadly enough the cool characters with their own voicelines you could spam are gone now.. 🥲 I really do miss “Hi it’s me, Charles Darwin” because now it’s only a small emoji and that’s it honestly, nothing more - some of the sound effects are kinda not there like when a bomb explodes for 1 player, it’s just 1 card and if you look away it’s like nothing really happend, no sound cue unless it’s you that exploded. Then there is sound for it. - the 3D hand is kinda sluggish to control sometimes - no more character voicelines sounds - no sound effects for cards like they used to have - no sound effects for the timer that goes higher and higher to 100% -some players can really take their time - the card text for some of the cards are insanely large and also use weird words like Victim ? It’s kinda like the rules are spelled on the card that you would read in a rule booklet instead of it being short and snappy It’s more like the real card game but digital and kinda ditches some funny good points from the original game but also did some improvements on their own. Edit : and I just lost points because I was not allowed to draw a card or play a card after using the shuffle card… I had to leave while the game was just going further but I could do nothing :( edit : I can not connect to matches anymore and my progress is 0 again. Still the game glitches after playing shuffle sometimes where I am forced to leave.
The new animations take too long and seem to stutter even on the latest phones there needs to be a way to disable them to make the game go faster as waiting on them makes the game feel painfully slow.
Look I love exploding kittens and I always play this with my friends and we always keep repeating these rounds. So when I found this I had to buy it it’s very cool because it adds a ton of expansion like imploding kittens you should keep up the good work and make more exploding kitten games like this!
Now let me just start by saying that I am a huge Exploding Kittens fan, I have 2 core games and 3 expansions to Exploding Kittens and I have a lot of their other games like Throw Throw Burrito and Why Are You Like This. So even if I’m probably bias, I still think it’s so fun, the cards are way more fun than the first mobile game plus the music makes it so fun and goofy. I also like how there is online so I’m able to go against anyone and that I can play with friends. I guess if I had to nitpick, it’s kinda sad that there are no expansion pack cards but that’s just a nitpick. Basically to make things clear I like this 3x more the the first mobile game
It’s a really good. I love the animations and themes but sometimes it glitches and makes me draw cards when I didn’t want to pick up. It’s already happened 3 times. Like towards the end when there’s an exploding kitten. I try to use the cards in my hand but it makes me pick up the kitten instead without me touching the screen. Super frustrating.
This game is very fun and I highly highly recommend exploding Kittens
I’ll be requesting a refund. Big fan of the card game, so I was happy to try it out. Firstly, the flow of the game seems slowed down to introduce hands moving on the screen, and other silly things. I was only able to play single player because when i tried to set up whatever you have to log into the play multiplayer, I was asked for my parents email to get their permission to play…. I’m not sure what age your have to be to play without parental approval, but at 40 I don’t seem to have made the cut.
OK but the old version without all of the fancy graphics was great too
1) I bought the expansion pass to host games like in the original, but now each player needs to buy the new card deck for $5. That’s a big barrier for newcomers and feels like a money grab. 2) I also miss having a timer to track how much time is left on each turn. It’d be great to have an option to turn this on and control the timer speed for faster games. 3) The new animations make everything feel slow and sluggish, losing the quick pace of the original. Drag-and-drop is gone, and I can’t organize my cards while someone else is playing. The old text animations for reactions have been replaced by emojis, which isn’t as fun. I’m glad they’re still supporting the game, but until they fix these issues—especially the requirement for everyone to buy the deck—I can’t recommend it.
