Preferable than having to use a PIN which is more effort and less secure

Unusable

rossvance on

App is unusable. When password field selected it jumps up off the screen, not allow me to either type or paste my password. VERY ANNOYING.

Unclear

I’d say the reason you guys are backed up is because the Medicare app doesn’t show claim progress statuses, so we don’t even know if the claim we’ve recently submitted has even been submitted into the system, let alone whether it’s been looked at. As far as I can see my claim hasn’t gone through because it doesn’t show up in claims history or anywhere else. Some of my past experiences with government agencies tells me that the systems fail all very often and it created bigger headaches, especially when the apps are so limited and the phone lines are backed up and manned by undertrained and depressed staff

Apple Wallet?

Great app but can we please have Apple Wallet support for the Medicare Card?

login doesn’t invoke password manager

tblspn on

Australia

when I logged in, instead of simply tapping the password field then seeing the word ‘Passwords’ to then autofill from the Apple password manager, I had to open that separately in Settings and copy/paste. Also: once I’d logged in, I’m greeted with ‘there is already a PIN associated with this login; use that next time’ (as if I’ve made some mistake) but that wasn’t an option on first login post app update. It was next time after that, but it felt a bit rude. ps. it would be nice if I could simply access my Medicare card in my Apple wallet app, same as my ATM card, train tickets etc., rather than opening the Medicare app just for this. Thanks.

Autofill Log In

The app won’t even allow you to autofill your log in details saved in the phone. We are told to create a complicated password and can’t even copy paste the password into the password field?? This app has stayed terrible for so many years. You’d think the government would spend some money and actually make it usable. What an embarrassment.

This app does not support the use of password managers, meaning that I have to manually type a 32 character randomly generated password. This is the type of rubbish that you would expect from government departments in AU. In not allowing password managers you’re effectively recommending they users have insecure passwords which is extremely disappointing.

App is buggy

Sweetblonde85 on

Can not sign in. Screen auto scrolls away from form field for the email address around when trying to enter.

Unnecessary repetition

Oddlyorange on

Australia

This app is cumbersome and creates unnecessary transaction costs for users. When making a claim this app requires you to upload a receipt and then manually enter the key info from the receipt too (provider number; item number etc). This presents a real barrier for people who may not be quick or familiar with the use of apps on phones (such as older people). In contrast, the app for the private insurer HCF only requires the client to upload the receipt. I presume the HCF staff then enter the item numbers etc in the course of checking the document.
