Unforgiving Gacha System

xXD4RK1Xx on

No matter what others may say about the viability of less rare servant to 5 star servants, the difference is stark when you are comparing the top servants. Sadly while the game is… ok, better with the newest update to gameplay and their card system, the game requires a LOT of time put in since there’s no way to autoplay. Honestly the worst part of the game is the Gacha system. The “pity” system is that if you haven’t pulled the featured 5 star after 329 Pulls, your 330th pull will be guaranteed to have the featured 5 star. Please note that this is IF you haven’t pulled the servant, once you have this Pity system is COMPLETELY off the table. To put this into perspective, each pull is 3 Saint Quartz, you can purchase Saint Quartz with the most cost-effective bundle being 167 Saint Quartz for $79.99. Doing the math, being very unlucky means a guaranteed pull is about $480 and then it’s up to dumb luck if you want additional pulls to further increase that servant’s Noble Phantasm and for Tokens. Now you can obviously slowly accrue Saint Quartz in-game, but you’ll likely never accrue enough for a guaranteed pull just from free means. The overall just lack of generosity for the Gacha system just really puts a damper on the game.

Visual Novel With Gatcha Aspects

Lelusine on

I’m going to be honest, don’t expect much from the “game” FGO hands out, rather expect a good story. The older stories do need to be completely rewritten, I get it, but in the end I do believe it’s worth it. With the culmination of all the knowledge from each section, it will all eventually fall together. And some characters get really nice tweaking to their personalities and really redeem them, so most servants don’t feel forgotten. Especially when you get further down into new content , the story really starts to shine and it will feel great reading and growing with the story and the characters in it, so try to plow through the first 5 singularities and you should start to enjoy the game (Yes, 5 singularities is like 10+ hours, this game is heavily story based )

It’s not worth it

Goooozma on

Played this game for 5 years… it is not worth any amount of money. The gameplay is archaic and the gacha system is actually hostile to players. “Pity” is non existent unless you drop hundreds of dollars on a single banner. At least the story is great… after you slog through the first 30 hours of boredom. It’s easy to forget as an older player, but the beginning of this game really devolves into “go fight wyverns 30 times with the occasional random and poorly written servant battle” Farming for materials is an absolute joke, to the point that lottery events (which give lots of rewards) are an excuse for players to farm for days straight, just so that they don’t have to engage with the normal drop rates. But at the same time, farming is 90% of what you’ll be doing in this game. There is no auto play, just hours on hours of tapping the same buttons on loop to farm as efficiently as possible. It’s really telling when one of the main goals for late game players is to play the game as little as possible. People want auto play. People want to be able to skip NP animations. People do not want to play the game, and for good reason. It’s a lazy, boring, repetitive mess that redeems itself for one story chapter before sending you back to a boring grind. Finally, the game also has the Minecraft problem… where you might get one slight change to gameplay a year. The game has been stagnant for years, but the devs are too afraid to really change anything significantly. This is a game that rides on the strength of its IP alone, as any other game built this poorly would be dead within the first year

Fun

Monty_174 on

Decent game I enjoy the story and game mechanics I actually got into the game because a friend of mine based our dnd campaign off the game and had characters from it inside so I picked it up to get an idea about them but I kept playing cause I actually enjoy the game I’ve been playing since just after we started the campaign and now it’s been about to years and we’re still playing both

I genuinely hate this game

Bad Drop Rate

Flowerfroggy on

Pulled 7x (10 draws) and got NOTHING above a 3 star character. The drop rates have gotten worse over the years I’ve played. They offer to let you pay 30$ basically to guarantee a 5 star you choose but limit you to choosing only 2 extra class servants for that lineup. I feel like if you’re gonna make me pay 1$/saint quartz I should be able to pick 9 any class I desire. If I want all avengers and moon cancers I ought to be able to do so. Regular drop rates are really bad anyways. I couldn’t get the banner character after 7x draws as reference earlier in this review. And now I’m getting a message saying server is busy try later. No news or any way to get it even from their official website. Edit: maintenance for 2-3 hours then they say you can play again just for it to crash again within a half hour no time frame still on when it’ll be fixed. They take your money and can’t even keep up their end of the bargain. Getting tired of the money grubbing nature and the shoddy mechanics on this game.

“Good” game

Humanity Last Master on

Great rewards, they do maintenance and take the server down every 15 minutes now. Best dev ever

Tidbit abt gacha system

-:GOLD:- on

The general gameplay is good but two things to look out for is the gacha system and ascension material drop rate which are both terrible. The pity for gacha used to be non existent but now it ranges in the 300ds which isn’t ideal and I donno if this is just me but the drop rates for most of my servant’s mats are just straight up horrible. It might be the servants I main are just hard to lev up but generally speaking be prepared to take on some soul draining grinding sessions if you want maxed out servants.
