Great food tracker, but…

inoxygen on

Elegant UI for a well-featured food tracker. I’m disappointed that it’s no longer possible to log times for food with the free version.

Great app, a few extra features would make it outstanding

After my old macro tracker app was no longer supported, I spent ages trying to find a good alternative that wasn’t too pricey. After 3-4 months of using this daily, I have to say I find it excellent. I do miss a few of the old features of my old app. One being where you entered the type of exercise you’d been doing, I.e Weight Lifting, Running etc and the duration and the app deducted the burnt calories from the total intake. Another nice little feature that should be easy for the developer to add would be a weight tracker. You just enter your weight and the day and you get a graph of how your weight goal is progressing.

Good but not geared up for UK

Love the app overall but would be nice if you could add a bank of UK foods and keep this being updated over time. I’m sure if you do something like this even more people would use it

Not for the home ethnic cook

MiddleAgedMum on

I cook from scratch, Arab food, Indian food, Chinese food. This app not really suitable and I’m struggling to cancel it.

Database feels very US-centric

Looked up Caffè Nero, a popular uk coffee chain and there is nothing. Found same issues elsewhere. Such a shame as such a pretty app.

Simply the best

Hands down the best food logging application I’ve ever used - and respectful of your privacy. 👍

Great choice for calorie & macro tracking

I moved to FoodNoms from MyFitnessPal and I'm so glad I did. FoodNoms is a much cleaner app, with everything you need but no more. It's a native-looking UI on iPhone and iPad, which I really appreciate - much nicer looking than competitor apps. You can set your own goals (budgets or targets) and sync with Apple Health app on iOS to modify your calorie budget each day based on your activity levels. The food library is smaller than on MyFitnessPal, but it's so easy to scan nutrition labels (it's amazing how this works!). Excellent app, which I highly recommend to anyone who is serious about tracking their calories and macros. EDIT: The Ask AI feature is incredible. It not only makes up for the smaller food library than some competitor apps, but actually makes FoodNoms far and above the best calorie and macro tracker there is.

It doesn’t work for me

I should check about it first on

I can’t put specific weight of food such as 50 g or 200 g of oats when I create meals, or any log, I can’t put specific weight in simple way. It’s not simple to use the app comparing to Nutra Check calorie counter for example.

Great on mac Continuity Camera

levi3man on

Im so glad they kept the scan feature. Soo many other apps would remove it because it is on a Mac/desktop. This works well. Especially if you use your iphone as a webcam or just your webcam. Keep up the good work. Im in the UK nad your data base is US heavy but your app is soo nice across all platforms that I am using it and contributing to the database with my UK items!

Great features, looks good. Fun to use

levi3man on

Although I feel I am single handedly adding all of the UK’s food items (adding them for all to use is a great feature) such as all the flavours of Huel (yes thank me for that - not all yet but soon) it is a joy to use. I heavily use the watch complications and also monitor and update on the mac. This thing keeps updated. I can imagine a tree of information going back and forth in real time and that’s what is happening. I drink my Hidrate spark, it sends to its app, it’s app sends to Apple Health and This app picks it up almost instantly so that this app for Apple health compatibility (Thank apple for the API and thank Hidrate spark too) so when I can’t be bothered to enter All macros because I’m in the UK and Foodnom is primarily for US I use myfitness pal and pulls in my macros from there into FoodNoms just like each sip of water from Hidrate. Seeing, setting goals for things like protein or vitamins helps me to choose what I need to improve with regards to my food choices. Great app. Multi device iPad iPhone Mac and watch. How all app should be.
