i think i payed around $30 for this not sure what i bought exactly cus it’s been 60 days now. at first it was super good and i enjoyed going to the classes they give you every morning. but now they repeat the exact same things. the first lesson will be a very quick lesson about lema or something that we’ve already talked about, then the second will be a “challenge” for the day, for example; have a bath, go for a walk. then the last lesson is a self assessment to see how ur day was, it asks the exact same things every day and it says it stores it ? can’t access where it supposedly stores it. but anyways i think that’s silly because even if i have done all the classes i was meant to they haven’t told me i’ve levelled up since level 3 or 4. it’s a great app otherwise, just wish i would’ve gotten better classes as that’s what i was excited for.
Limited list of foods
The list of foods is very limited. Most of what I scan is not available nor those from Lite n’ Easy or Opti fast. Have to say it’s pretty frustrating. Also the graph won’t show my weight loss for some reason. Overall I think there are better apps out there
Expensive but helpful
The positives of this app are abundant: in comparison to its free competitors such as My Fitness Pal, the interface is much easier to use, less clinical and sterile in appearance, and is quite cute and motivating. The daily lessons included in this app are wonderful, as they are short but useful, and provide an informed perspective on nutrition that exceed the usual, blunt ‘eat less, move more’ advice. The advice takes into account process of building habits and how understanding the reasons for healthy behaviours will assist in effectively and sustainably applying them.
I have taken a star off as, much like other reviews, the search function, particularly barcode scanning and taking photos of food, is not the most reliable and you should be diligent in figuring out the nutritional info of your food yourself rather than relying on the search. It can be a good general guide, especially for raw foods, but when it comes to scanning something, eg. when I scanned canned tuna, it did not get the calories or serving size correct.
However, I believe those flaws are present in most apps of this kind and while this app is quite expensive, I’ve found it to be quite helpful in sticking to my goals. I do believe that for the price, the search function should be much more reliable, but if you have a bit of money to spend and are struggling with your nutrition, it will help you.
Adjust calories
Does not allow you to adjust your calories keeps reverting to the default amount.
Nice Basic Tracker But Anti-Veg Bias
The food tracking system is pretty good, although it can still be smoother. It does not allow copy and paste of meals, give a comprehensive breakdown of micronutrient values, or provide summary overview graphs, trends etc., but I’m sure they will develop this in time.
I am a medical scientist with a vested interest in nutrition and have noticed a heavy lean towards an animal product filled diet in the information section. Animal products are heavily encouraged, without any warnings about the consumption of dairy products and the propensity towards weight gain/retention, acne breakouts and indigestion. These three side effects are prevalent everywhere as 85% of humans do not produce the enzyme required to break down dairy once being weened from breastfeeding. There is no mention of daily cholesterol needs being sufficiently synthesised by the body, making a dietary source not vital, and potentially unhealthy when recipes are pushing eggs etc.
After looking at the vegetarian specific information, there is a heavy bias against vegetarianism. The trends I am noticing are lack of comprehensive information about vegetarian nutrition options (leafy greens, combining vitamin C with iron rich foods to increase absorption, avoiding tea/coffee around meal times). It claims that vegetarian diets alone are insufficient in B12 however this is inaccurate; the human diet is insufficient and meat eaters synthetically substitute by fortifying e.g. processed breakfast foods with B12. This is information that vegetarians alone lack a B12 source is inaccurate and fear mongering. Instead, information should be provided to all people on any diet about B12 deficiency. This app also claims vegetarian diets have a higher rate of anaemia and this has been shown to be untrue in scientific studies. Some people, such as myself, absorb iron better on an average veg diet than on a healthy meat eating diet.
There is much more, but I’ll leave it there. I would encourage the scientific data collators to please do some further, scientific and non-biased research into the topics I have mentioned, and more. Meta analyses should also be provided as references for medical claims. It is important to present correct information when people look to these resources as a nutritional guide.
Thank you :)
Terrible - Use My Fitness Pal
The way this app sets itself apart is the photo feature, it would be a game changer if it worked, but alas, 9 times out of 10 unless you’re scanning an incredibly basic item like a banana, it won’t work and even then the weight will never be accurate. It’s a very half baked feature. Even when scanning a packaged item, it is very common for the app to not know what you’re scanning, a very basic and very reliable feature in other apps that are free. Very dissatisfying and disappointing
Terrible App
I scanned some items and they weren’t in the list so you add them yourself…. Then you can look for an item and it’s an item that someone else has added for you can find two different sets of information for the one product. There seems to be no one controlling what’s added and if it’s correct.
It said on the add 30 days money back and I was denied my request with no reason why.
Great app

Thieves! Stay away… better options out there
I purchased a 3-month subscription and the upgrade bundle. $104. Only to find out it really doesnt meet my needs. Poor experience. Cancelled immediately and requested a refund.
Subsequently, my refund requests have been declined. In this day and age all I can say is modern day thieves!! Robbery.
Charged for free trial
This app charged me the most expensive of all options $53 for 3 months, without my consent. I signed up for free trial. And immediately saw a fee on my credit card for $53. There were option like $16 a month or etc that I would have used if I knew there was going to be no free trial.
Beware! They don’t even respond to you properly.
The AI says: you already had a free trial! A lie! I just downloaded this app based on Ig ad! Big mistake! Rip off
