Description

Forger is a desktop-class 3D modeling and sculpting application for artists that want to create anywhere. Forger now pairs its award-winning sculpting toolset with the powerful polygonal modeling engine from Maxon’s venerable Cinema 4D desktop application. Forger now offers the best of both worlds in one 3D creation app: sculpting’s organic expressiveness and the exactness of hard-surface, polygonal modeling.
The new Forger includes:
· An intuitive multitouch interface, Apple Pencil support, draw-to-select and on-screen navigation and orientation tools gives artists an intimate, intuitive and powerful way to manifest their ideas as digital 3D creations.
· A full library of polygonal primitives to get started quickly, including: cube, sphere, hemisphere, platonic, cone, pyramid, disc, cylinder, tube, oiltank, capsule, and Torus.
· The full polygonal modeling engine and tools from Maxon’s Cinema 4D desktop solution, including Transform, Extrude, Bevel, Inset, Bridge, Line and Loop Cut and more.
· A desktop-class sculpting workflow and brush engine that offers the power of a Desktop sculpting application, without compromises.
· A large sculpting brush library: standard, clay, flatten, move, pull, smooth, pinch, inflate, crease, scrape, polish, planar, layer, stamp and mask. Each brush has an alternate function that does even more! Even use custom stamps (alphas).
· Professional concept sculpting - With two powerful remeshing algorithms (volume based remeshing and edge-flow topological remeshing), the ability to cap holes, slice, split and merge sub-meshes; doing concept sculpting on a mobile device is no longer a dream.
· Multi-resolution meshes - Increase the resolution of the model by multiplying the number of faces by four, whilst keeping the previous (coarser) version of the mesh as another sub-level. Step back and forth between levels to do big changes or work on details. Rebuild subdivision levels on previously subdivided meshes if importing from another software and carry on with Forger!
· Sculpt layers - Work in a non destructive manner by creating layers per sub-level for quick concepting and adjusting their intensities for different results.
· Advanced stylus & external keyboard support - Users can choose whether they want brushes to be affected by pressure in strength or size. Users that are used to sculpting & texturing softwares will feel at home with keyboard support, allowing them to skip the learning stage of the app due to the very commonshortcuts found in known Desktop 3D digital content creation tools.
· Vertex Colors - Paint your creations with per-vertex colors for presentation purposes, use this to create rough base textures or final stylized ones.
· Bidirectional model sharing between Forger and Maxon's Cinema 4D, winner of a Sci-Tech award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, offering the ultimate in workflow flexibility.
· File I/O - Save your scenes to the internal scene format and use the other popular file 3D formats to import or export new models or base meshes into your favorite 3D application.

Forger Reviews

Quality

i wont let me pick a nickname on

Netherlands

In the beginning it was all going great and I was really enjoying it! But after some time the quality lowered and I got allot off weird spots everywhere and it started glitching. Is there any reason why it is doing that?

what!?

i was working on a sculpture from 3 days work and suddenly the app goes to the homepage and my sculpture is gone! did i do something wrong? and i think that it’s ridiculous that it costs money to save a project….

Pretty good

This app is nice even tho I suck at making models I had fun and I could find all the buttons good for beginners and professionals too

Annoyed!

I purchased this app way before it turned subscription based and had a LIFETIME license! now all of a sudden it’s gone? And I have to pay…again but this time through a subscription? That was not apart of the original agreement. At this point this app needs to be taken down. Don’t promise people pay a one time fee to own the app but then change it.. I want my money back or I want my product. You don’t get free money.

Kicks me out

When I try to add another object into forger it kicks me out, I’m signed in but is using the free version if I have to use the paid version then I am definitely using something else, please help me.

It keeps crashing

The app is horrible. It keeps crashing what a total waste of time.

Meh- Maxon is worse than Adobe

kingofzombies on

I’m a long time Zbrush user. Just like Adobe struggles to make Photoshop more than a half baked crippled app on the ipad. Maxon is struggling even worse after they took over Forger and dropped those of use who bought it from the beginning. Get Nomad instead. It is amazing and a great price. Unlike these ridiculous subscription apps made by bloated corporations that care about profits more than making something good.

The worst

Hands-down, should scrap this hopefully zbrush will be easier to use …. How is nomad sculpt sooooo much better ? When Maxon owns this…. Makes no sense … waste of money!

Please fix this app

Unapuppy 🦄🐶 on

I enjoy the sculpture features and think they are good for a free app. However some tools are very difficult to use especially the transform tool. When using this tool the arrows needed to move and object appear very far below it, making the user have to zoom out to transform their object. This makes it nearly impossible to get precise placement. As well as this the color tool is very pixelated and the brush size is limited to a medium size, so small details can not be added. Overall, the app is difficult to navigate and feel very overwhelming.

Crashed immediately

As soon as I opened my first file, the app crashed. I tried again and again, but it unfortunately never worked. Kinda sad, I was looking forward to trying it out.
