Fix the bugs

TheBurdbrain on

United Kingdom

I made comments to a project scene from my mobile (a long comment!) and it didn't even register when I sent it. If you are going to update your system, make sure it works first!

Totally useless

mahanpikasso on

This app is extremely useless and for login there’s lots of problem I never recommend this application

Google login has issues

Skisy on

United Kingdom

After logging in with a google account, interface opens within the small in app browser instead of returning to main app screen. This issue has existed for years.

Better in Browser for Note Giving

Ed M. 127 on

United Kingdom

Overall I really like Frame.io as a service, just not the app version. In browser you can: - Go back and edit your posted comments - Watch the video in different places while leaving a comment - Change windows/programmes while leaving a comment (I.e. to check the video against a script or email) and go back without losing the in progress text. You can’t do any of these things on the app version. This adds a significant amount of time to the review process compared to using the browser version (though both app and browser are better and faster than typing notes out without this type of service). There are other limitations compared to the browser and to be honest I haven’t really seen the benefits of the app versus the browser. I’m going back to using that and deleting the app as links now take me directly to app without the option to choose (convenient if you really like the app but not for me). I should say my role is just one of reviewing and leaving notes. For those compiling and actioning notes it may be a different experience.

The definition of bare minimum

okbobjoe101 on

The app is the bare minimum, it’s far too different to the website, lacks full screen preview and downloads don’t always give you both options to save to device, comments are completely different Colours compared to the web, there’s no search function for clips nor can you do comment ranges. All of this is completely unacceptable considering frame.io is now a very successful company and still only develops for iOS, there is no excuse but I highly recommend avoiding the app.

Airplay doesn’t work

jmsehrrsn on

iOS 16 iPhone 12 try to switch Airplay to TV from iPhone and it doesn’t respond. Other than that (and aside from the tedious Adobe login procedure) it’s a good app.

Unreliable

Can you please fix this. Keeps logging out or unable to connect when clicking on a thumbnail. Plus can we have a checkmark next to comments.

SO FRUSTRATING!!!

UPDATE 27/02/20: Had some excellent customer support who helped me overcome the upload issues. I’m not sure what they were exactly but, anyway, we got it sorted. At least I can now use Frame.io for my project and I like it very much... but only via a web browser. As much as I want the iPad app to be amazing (I use only an iPad Pro for my whole workflow as my sole device), the reality is that there are too many little glitches with it: comments sometimes display in the wrong order (not in time stamp order), some comments don’t display at all, I can’t reply to a reply, etc etc. It’s close... but no cigar. The web app however, is great. So upping my rating from two to three stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’m a first time user of Frame.io and I’m so frustrated right now because it’s so nearly great, but in reality super glitchy! I’m using the ipad app and from the start it’s had hiccups: it got stuck generating a thumbnail after importing a video (1.3GB, mp4), so I had to go out of the project, then go back in again (by which time it had done the thumbnail). Then the timeline doesn’t fully populate with preview images, only the first couple of mins (17min film total). The playback freezes the image quite often, so I can’t see 20-odd seconds worth, only hear the audio. Then when it does unfreeze and catch up, the audio is out of sync with the images. And most frustrating of all, the much-lauded timeline scrub functionality simply doesn’t function properly. You can scrub a tiny bit, but the main image doesn’t follow and soon freezes. And even if it does follow, when you stop and press play, nothing happens. Often have to pause then play again which normally, but not always, restarts playback. But basically you cannot easily scrub back and forth as required... which is kind of essential when you need to go back a few seconds to add a comment about what you just saw/heard. It’s so annoying because everything else is great. The basic premise of the app is amazing and I was so excited when I discovered it because its exactly what I’ve needed for ages. Also the UI design is nice... but I would say it’s not so well thought through on iPad... it’s not so intuitive or easy to figure out how to upload a file to a new project or close down an editing window. Given the frankly huge monthly subscription price (why oh WHY won’t developers realise that there’s only so many monthly subscriptions people can handle/justify, when a one time purchase is so much more likely to be made on

Still no native iPad version!! WHY NOT?

Alex-the-Gr8 on

United Kingdom

It’s been 3 years since the iOS version launched and there still isn’t an iPad version of the Frame.io app. Why not? This is completely ridiculous in my mind as I’d much rather review video on a larger screen. It’s very convenient on the iPhone for sure but I would use it WAY if there was a native iPad version. The mobile web browser support is dodgy too at best. I’ll happily amend back to 5 stars when this is rectified. I suggested/requested this feature at least 2 years ago!! Please please please support the iPad!

Would be 5 stars if it had an iPad app

creativebloke.com on

I love frame.io but the fact that there is still no iPad app and iffy mobile safari support does knock two stars off
