Great selection, but Missing Elias Hicks
This is clearly a work of diligent passion. The readings a professional and there are modernized as well as the original versions of Quaker writings from the beginning to the early 20th century. Glaringly missing is the journal and sermons of Elias Hicks. While Hicks was a controversial figure for many, and took the blame for the Hicksite Separation, the story is more nuanced. Many quakers felt threatened by his ideas much like earlier puritans and Anglican’s were threatened by the early Quakers. This is no reason to exclude him from the annals of Quaker thought.
