Galaxy Genome is an open world sci-fi space simulator.
You'll be able to upgrade your ship and customize every component as you hunt, explore, fight, mine, smuggle, trade and survive in the cutthroat galaxy. Follow the main story or do side missions.
This game gives you the ability to feel real space exploration. The entirety of the Milky Way re-created at its full galactic proportions.
At the beginning of the game you are a pilot of a small ship. Financial struggle forces you to start transporting contraband. Certainly, it will lead to you being in trouble with the law someday. But at some point in your life you are forced to make a deal with the authorities of the system. And that is when your dangerous space adventure begins.
Game Features:
- Free-form play allows everyone to choose their own path, becoming an angry pirate, a peaceful trader, an explorer, a bounty hunter, or a mix between these roles.
- More than 30 different and customizable ships.
- The game has a vibrant story and side quests.
- Surface vehicles to explore planets.
- No classes or skill levels, strength is decided by ship equipment and player skill.

Really happy I came across this. Unlike I originally thought where I would mainly be just zooming around the universe, shooting ships and dodging missiles, there is a lot of technical play behind it.
You need to learn to manage and prioritise your power output, such as to your thrusters, shields, weapons, life support etc for different scenarios, and fighting battles isn’t really just skill based. A lot of the time it’s as you can imagine a space battle between ships like on Star Trek or something but with a bit more darting about, who has the best shields, weapons and equipment will win.
In some scenarios it’s best to just to run away from enemy ships/battles. The game even goes as far as if a pirate is after your cargo and you don’t like your odds, if you haven’t attacked yet, you can drop your cargo and hope they go for that instead of you.
Initially it can seem overwhelming looking at all the menus but luckily there is a quite in depth tutorial teaching you the basics and how to get by. There is also a further readable info page you can check anytime you want to learn something you’re not sure about.
One of the first main missions you do while in the tutorial is a battle so you’re not thrown in the deep end, but after that I advise trying to keep to decent security star systems and transporting cargo or something like that for a few missions until you’ve got some decent upgrades, as with some enemies, to me, the balance seems a bit off and even in the first few areas/galaxy’s you can get taken out very quickly. It once happened to me whilst I was causally sat near a star refuelling my ship, another ship just drove up and blew me up in a few shots which was, I’m not gonna lie, ever so slightly annoying.
There are security ships (space police lol) and they do help out if you’re in a system with them, but also if you’re in the wrong you can get a fine you have to pay, if you don’t pay and carry on though they’ll attack you.
I can’t comment too much on the story as of yet because I’m not that far into it but it seems like I’ll get many hours out of this and I’m looking forward to exploring and seeing where it goes.
For saving the game there are three slots and cloud, and you can can save anytime so it’s good for pickup and play, but I’d advise saving to the cloud regularly as the three saves can be wrote over quickly while playing but the cloud save doesn’t change until you decide to overwrite it.
No joystick
Ripped off
Tutorial stuck on repeating the instruction “use virtual joystick in bottom left had corner”. But there is no virtual joystick at all anywhere on the screen. Consequently never got to play at all..
GREAT POTENTIAL
The foundation there… it has the potential to be a GREAT GAME…. So many planets to explore… you have entire GALAXY. You can upgrade your ship.
You can explore THE GALAXY TO MAKE MONEY.. a really cool idea.. sounds fun. And there are around a dozen waypoints on the galaxy map you can travel to …
BUT PROBLEM.besides that dozen points on the map….. the GALAXY IS EMPTY. .so you explore to make money ….. but it becomes Very tedious and monotonous.. as ……. Every solar system it’s exactly the same thing. You jump in scan for a handful of different kinds of planets then move to next solar system… besides scanning for planets…….. and the extremely rare alien robot ship…………… there’s literally nothing. . There’s nothing out there every solar system is empty… besides that dozen waypoints on galaxy map( which is scattered around 1 half of the galaxy) … there is NO MOTIVATION, OF ANY KIND TO explore the second half of the galaxy because THERES NOTHING TO FIND, NOTHING TO DO, NOTHING TO SEE THATS DIFFERENT then what your all ready doing. So you’ll find your self really only exploring close to the waypoints to make money and increase reputation. . As again there is no motivation to really explore any further…
.. it’s a good game.. it really is . GREAT POTENTIAL. Space combat is fun.. the main story is short but good…. The variety of ships you can get it cool and you can upgrade them which is AWSOME. I REALLY LOVE THE CONCEPT .
Conclusion. Great concept, great game mechanics , easy to learn. wonderful potential, the developers literally have the entire galaxy to add ideas. But again the problem is they have the GALAXY but almost nothing in it lol. IDEAS—- maybe add more alien races ,Ancient civilizations and or there ruins .in space or on planets to find, alien races you can say through reputation or trading you can befriend or make hostile, ancient Dyson spheres …. Kinda like Star Trek or Star gate . Just stuff to motivate the player to ACTUALLY EXPLORE the galaxy … maybe even the ability to eventually continue the main story - would be neat to see say your actions effect the story like mass effect, or at the very least my actions effect my relationship with the main npc character of the main story. Or even add the ability to eventuality concern my own territory, and fight other factions.

Is there a way to see how many total light years we have traveled while playing?

Deep game that gets in the way of itself.
Like a 2D elite dangerous, but not in a good way. This is more of a hardcore simulation despite being a 2D isometric game that would have been better suited for a more arcade type gameplay. The good parts of the game is that there an incredibly expansive universe to explore and incredible number of customization options to fine tune your ship, and create your own fleet. What turned me off is the horrible flight controls the the tedious amount of time it takes for navigating a star system. Other issues is a lack of an index to explain stat terms like optimal mass which makes me wonder if I’m upgrading my ship the right way. Trading is also too inefficient to be a viable way to make money in game.
this is best game on app store
it incorporates. theres so much to do. the main quest is to shortit seems. but the game is sooo good... the space travel, physics, intricacy of every ship, the controls... it has glitches but the gameplay isnt like nything ive played and easily stil 10 out of 10.
tjhings its could improve: incorporating the mystery of space travel like the original "out there"
Elite Dangerous Mobile
Just what I was looking for!
Constantly crashes
Looks like it would be a decent game if it didn’t crash every five minutes.
