This app is overcomplicated, I wrote a whole list and then it wouldn't even show in my widgets so I could have it visible when I opened my phone. There is too many options, good for people who enjoy complicated apps but for a to do list app just seems unnecessary. Also hidden purchases, install the app to find your on a free version with no indication of what the premium version costs.

I've noticed that what tempts me to try a new app is not because the old one doesn't work, it's because the interface begins to feel jaded. This is where GoodTask shines: it gives you the ability to create your own themes: colours, text size, layouts etc. Two main task task display methods are available: board view (columns) and list view (rows). Within these two fundamental views you can further customise by sorting by date, list, priority, tag and so on. When you've sorted out a few layouts that give you the information that you want, you can set them as favourites. Because it draws from Apples own Reminders app, it plays nicely with the ecosystem in terms of dragging and dropping from other Apple apps. If you're frustrated at the lack of a particular feature in the native app, GoodTask adds that functionality. It's really nice to use on an iPad with a keyboard, but the iPhone app is also just as easy to use. Down sides? There is so much that can be customised it can feel a little daunting for a while. It is easy to forget where to go to change a particular setting and what the setting does. Set the app up with a few trial Lists and Tasks and have a play before committing your life to it! Persevere, it will be worth it.

I can only add to all the great reviews. I’m a planning app nerd and, like other reviewers, I have used them all. And I mean: all. This has to be one of the overall smartest and most pleasing app of the lot. The designer in me loves its appearance, the procrastinator in me loves its functionality. I could go on for 10 paragraphs or so, but I’ll spare you. Thanks for being so good at what you do!

Absolutely love GoodTask! This has to be the best reminders-based app. I can use it to easily manage day-to-day tasks as well as a powerful project task manager. This is a real step up from the stock standard Reminders app.

A great app that fixes the shortcomings of reminders? A single time purchase? Affordable instead of the hundreds some apps ask? Incredible!

Update: Cant justify $20 for an app that crashes each use and whose sync with Reminders takes too long. Im still showing 43 reminders in your app whereas Ive updated half and Reminders shows 23. Why the issue with the GT app syncing? You need to lower your price. Im coming off the trial soon but wont be spending $20 to unlock a crashing, non syncing app!! I cant access settings to set it up to properly to trial the app on my newer phone. You block me with your premium pitch pop up. Why would I pay $19.99 (it was $9.99 in 2024) for an app I cant trial properly? Is it a bug in the app that you are blocking my settings to trial it? Im not impressed. It works ok on my older device but I need to test it on both devices. Are you ever going to provide the ability to import the Apple reminders vs just interfacing to them? Not sure what $19.99 would be getting me. Any advice re the trial glitch? (No?)

I’ll keep it short. App is an excellent overlay on the native Reminders App. I moved away from OmniFocus (another excellent App by the way!) because my workflow was simpler than I thought. I can also integrate with my wife to collaborate on tasks in smart lists.
