Grocery Gadget

Been using this app for a long time and whilst I would have recommended in the past then with the adding back in of adverts after I purchased the pro version because of the new subscription model then big nope from me. More recently I’ve had my whole DB corrupted and lost, had to restart and now I’ve got more DB issues where app will crash when I add some things to a list, some hidden lists.

My wife and I both use this app and found it invaluable for creating and sharing lists. Over the past couple of weeks it refuses to export. All we get is a message “Export failed. Please try again later”. But no joy. What’s happened? UPDATE. Excellent response from developer. Problem solved and everything working again. We Deere kept updated with progress. Well done!

I paid for the ‘pro’ version a few years back to remove ads and sync between devices. Now I seem to have been knocked back to the basic version with ads and no sync, and a demand for £10 per year subscription.

Very useful app

I’m certain I used to be on the ad free pro version of this but something has changed in recent months and I can’t scroll more than a third of the way down the page before a video ad comes up, several times in the space of two minutes. Utterly unusable now. Avoid.

To be honest I gave up!! as this app is designed for the US market. Developers could use plenty of information online to make it suitable for uk markets.

I’ve tried lots of other shopping list apps and always come back to this one. Good workflow, great interface. Particularly like the way two people can use it and shop at the same time. Many of the other apps fall down with synchronization and multi user functionality. This one doesn’t. Great database of items and the barcode scanner is quite useful. I recommend this app :-)

The linking between lists, shops and the current shopping list is not at all intuitive. E.g. I now find I can buy all my groceries in the hardware store because I missed something when adding the store maybe? Also not happy about the ad subscription, a rip-off. However, it does the job and I haven't found anything better. Still cannot see why I am not allowed to shop from all lists when going round the aisles. I don’t care which list it’s on, if I’m in the shop, I want to see anything that I have selected. Still trying to force me on wrong shop it thinks I’m in. Disabled location services!

I have been a fan of this grocery app for years (every now and then I try one of the other for comparison, but I always return). I particularly like the ability to order items by isle within specific stores (where the layout of the isles changes from store to store). It saves me loads of time.
