Yellowstone
Very useful for our 5 day exploration around Yellowstone. Great tips and information.
Fantastic guide
We made use of the guided tours through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and then the Canadian Rockies. We also used the guide through the Great Smokey Mountains NP. In each instance we were glad and grateful for the directions, the advice and the stories. I would recommend to anyone.
Worth it
This seemed a little pricey but we took the chance and am so glad we did. We learnt so much about the wildlife, the history and the people and found the commentary quite entertaining. The app cuts in and out of your music in CarPlay when you reach relevant areas and works without cell service (providing you remember to download before you go). We went on little side roads and stopped in places that we would have just driven past without our friend along for the ride, well worth the money spent. It was like being on a private tour.
Fantastic!
We used the guide for our first visit to Yosemite. It was able to guide us to all the must see sights and provide great instructions on where to park the car and how to navigate the roads. Without the app we would have driven around in circles in endless frustration and wouldn’t have visited all the must see sights. A definite game changer and well worth the small investment!
Canadian Rockies Tour
The GuideAlong app was like having our own private tour guide: places of interest, geological history of the Rockies formation and early exploration of the Rockies, even the reason behind the building of the Icefields Parkway! Worth the money. Doesn’t matter if you start from Banff or Jasper or even turn around part way along, the tour keeps up with your location.
Essential Tourist Guide
We have experienced this type of guidance in our trips to New Zealand. Both those trips were with a device you had to hire from a company at a much higher cost than the App guides for your phone. But the GuideAlong App gives you so much more for planning etc., we would recommend for anyone planning and taking a trip through the available areas.
Surprised at how good this is
I was hesitant to get this app, didn’t know if it would be useful. So glad we did, it made the drives on the Icefield Parkway and down to Vancouver so much better with great information and tips. Really like how it told you what was at the various turnoffs and how far any walks were. If we didn’t have this app we may not have gone and seen as much as we did. The app worked really great and was easy to use. Absolutely would recommend this app.
