I've been using this for a while, and there's a lot of work to be done to make this a useful and worthwhile app. To begin with, the quality of the videos definitely needs improving. Secondly, there's detail lacking to enable you to learn songs accurately. For example, when you use the 'Diagrams' option it overlays right in the middle of the video. Not too helpful. But worst of all it doesn't reflect arpeggio sequences on the diagrams, so quite how you learn the example included I don't know. Try 'CoachGuitar'. Slicker, better presented and with more detail.
For many years I had owned an acoustic guitar which I played less ever since my early twenties. I discovered this app and tried a couple out. Within hours I was hooked as I was able to quickly pick up the basics. I bought an electric guitar weeks later and again the same. I was quickly picking up riffs and making progress that would not have been possible working from books. This is first rate and my only reason for not giving 5 stars is the lack of information on what effect pedals to use and a bit extra on some of the more complex movements. Buy this today if you ate a frustrated amateur.
Thank you for the help you have provided, could you please add a strumming pattern to the songs covered?
I couldn't of have found a better app :) This app is absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend this to my friends! 5 stars is a definite for me!
Taking the fairly difficult free song Sweet Home Alabama as an example, there is just not enough detail to enable you to play the song as per the featured player. The chords are straight forward enough, but the lead parts are not described at all. I found far better lessons on this song on YouTube at no charge. Based on this one song I would not buy any further downloads from this app. For what they had done, I thought it was done well, but it could be dramatically improved.
Want to learn an instrument? If you're anything like me, I find normal lessons too complex or difficult to follow. Masterclass allows me to learn gradually, mixing practical examples with lesson plans that shows me the basics while embedding an ability to valuable playing skills. If you are looking to learn guitar or enhance your existing ability, give Masterclass a go. With a huge selection of great songs, there is something to suit every taste and ability.
Great app, clean and precise guitar playingcheers more old rock songs but they will get there I'm suremuy it you won't be disappointed
Good app, I already play some guitar but want to learn some new songs so trying this out. Would benefit from be able to scale the fret position diagram a little better as the strumming view is restricted when the diagram is on screen.
Downloaded a few apps of this type and I must say this was the one that has stayed on my iPad while others have been deleted. Great video quality and easy step by step guide. Great selection of tunes and plenty of variety.
