Gym Timer FAQ

Yes, Gym Timer is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Gym Timer legit?
🤔 The Gym Timer app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This was an amazing, simple app that tracked sets and rest times. Then, they made an update where the screen would get stuck on an ad after each set. I understand ads, but the ad used to only go on after you finished all sets. Now, it pauses your entire workout as the ad blocks the screen and disrupts in between sets.
EDIT: the creator listened to feedback and updated, now it’s great! 5 stars.
Used to be great
EDIT: The developer actually addressed this issue. I’m updating this to a 5 star review. Thank you so much for fixing this!
So I’ve been using this app for years during my workouts. It’s been awesome, a super simple platform that I needed. There’s always been a little banner ad at the bottom of the page which I don’t mind, since it doesn’t interfere with the timer. However, there was just an update to the app the past few days. Before I updated, I thought to myself “I really hope they aren’t going to put in ads now”. And sure enough, now there are ads that interrupt your session. You already have banner ads on the app, there is no need to interrupt our workouts with the pop up ads. I wish I could give this app 5 stars, but it’s such a shame that the developers put in ads. I’m not one to write poor reviews on anything, and this may be the first time I’ve ever done so. The new ads just irritate me so much. I might just switch to the built in Apple timer until this gets resolved (if it ever does).
Old version pls
Love this app! I used it for years, for my gym sessions. Honestly don’t like the new color, old version was better. But keep updating the app please, we need widgets especially for the Home Screen.
The app WAS useful
I liked he app before this last update. It’s just not practical anymore with the endless ads after every set.
3.6.1 Made This App Trash
This *was* a great little app, but it seems the primary “fix” that came with 3.6.1 is to show you full screen (with audio) ads between many of the your sets instead of at the end of the exercise, in addition to the ads always shown at the bottom. With no way to pay to remove, these are so obtrusive it’s straight to the garbage bin now.
New update is unusuble
New update plays an add after every interval!!! This makes the app completely useless. Horrible
Update gives you more ads
I’ve used this app for years but the new update now gives you an ad you have to close between sets. It’s now unusable
5/5, Can’t live without it!
Amazing app! Saved me from forgetting my sets and rest time. Exactly what I needed.
Was a great app at one point.
Used the app almost daily for years. New update spams ads after every set. Immediately uninstalled. Won't me looking back.
ADS ADS ADS
This new update is trash. So many ADS. I never had ads in the middle of my timers just at the end of my intervals. Now there’s ADS after every timer almost.
