I had to delete my Health apps, and their databases, to solve a data sync problem across devices. So I exported my data and bought the Health Importer bundle to restore data to my iPhone (XS; running iOS 17.5.1) to restore the database and re-sync to the other device. No matter what I did, the importer would crash and import nothing. Apple Health generates thousands of data points every month. If, like me, you have a years-long database, with hundreds of thousands of data points, and need to restore it, forget it. This app will just crash and not import anything. I needed to provide my Apple Health data to my health care providers and now all I have are two unusable XML files. This developer should be thankful my personal resources are limited. Because this kind of data loss is the stuff lawsuits are made of. Update: The free Health XML Splitter Mac desktop app —designed to break up large Apple Health XML databases into smaller chunks that Health Importer can use— also doesn’t work. All it did was create one highly compressed database that also made Health Importer crash.
Yep title says it
crashed and burned, didn’t import a single record.
With all the 1 star reviews I was nervous about paying for an app that might now work. Thankfully I didn’t have any problems and my health data from my old phone was able to be imported to my new phone within 2 minutes or so. Be aware you have the option to import from health data such as iPhone or Apple Watch. Don’t choose both or you will have some overlapping duplicate info. It’s easy to delete from the health app and re import from one source. I imported from my Apple Watch, which had over 200k pieces of data. The numbers are ever so slightly off but close enough that I don’t mind. Be aware, this app won’t import things like closed rings and awards from the Apple fitness app. I don’t think the data points that you import count toward your trends (like comparing 2022 steps to 2023 steps, etc). But at least the data is here on my phone now!
Application crashes once the sources of data are identified.
I imported the data and you cannot see it in the health app graphs
Did not import my xml to apple health
The app simply can’t import the data and crashes. This is a scam!
I have imported the data but nothing is shout in my health app or the activity in my fitness app. Don’t waste your money
