Hiarcs playing with adaptative strength with updated books and coach advice by x or + on the board leds is a real nice feature. Thanks
Simply the best and most enjoyable of all the chess games I've ever played.
I have some of the best UCI chess engines on my PC. But I think no engine can play similar to what Hiarcs is doing. He plays like a chess grandmaster (Yes, he will easily crush you!) but in doing so he also sometimes do weak moves like a normal human player will do.
The best chess program on the iPad. It is possible to buy on the developer's site an opening book that is installed with iTunes and contains millions of positions (25,000,000 currently). The program resigns, offers a draw, and its strength is about 2900 ELO.
The app is quick and responsive, fun to play against. My only caution is to be careful what you tap because it’s easier than it should be to accidentally switch sides with the computer, causing the game to become unrated. Not as feature-rich as the desktop version of HIARCS, which I also enjoy practicing against, but the mobile version is both portable and lovely, without being a battery hog.
Good Apps😌!
I'd like this app more if it had a more conventional opening book. Odd ball openings are ok once in a while, but not all the time.
Good rendition, strong chess engine, best of all will resign when outplayed instead of mindlessly continuing the game. Estimates your chess rating and updates this as you play. Excellent value.
Very human like play. It's also terrific for replaying games from pgn databases, with very nice indications of opening lines. One feature I would like to see is more flexibility on time and increment controls for playing games. But all in all, highly recommended.
