The new macbooks with apple silicon processor can install the ios apps that the developers allow for Mac os, since they have the same architecture as the iPhone. Put this app as compatible, it would be great to be able to use the app on a macbook to monitor the wireless transmitters in large. (Right now the app can’t be installed on OSX with the M1 as being marked as not permitted on OSX)
Big privacy red flag!!! Mandatory geolocation for no reason
The app itself works quite nicely as intended, it is surprisingly stable, the preview tools and local snapshots/recording are useful.
However, while this app’s purpose is to simply receive and display a video signal via the local Wi-Fi network that is created by the MARS transmitters, it is requesting access to the user’s geolocation and entirely refuses to work/connect without geolocation permissions enabled in settings.
This is not justified in any way for its purpose as its functionality does not depend on location and thus makes me very uncomfortable with grave concerns for Hollyland’s user privacy. Other manufacturers that provide similar solutions for wireless monitoring do not require this.

Why do you need to know my exact location to let me use the app???
