This app worked great before. I was really impressed with how accurate it was. It’s definitely better at identifying birds than I am. Now for whatever reason, after the app offloaded to the iCloud briefly (we don’t get many birds I don’t recognize during winter) every time I try to redownload the app the download doesn’t finish. I hope it’s not because of the price increase. I guess the good news is that I can still use iBird Pro to identify birds; it’ll just take a little longer.
Nothing fancy just simplicity at it’s best. Tried it out on a known bird from a photo I had taken a few years ago & it came up with 3 choices ranging from 0% Confidence to 6% to 95% Confidence (Barred Owl which was correct) The other 2 options were also Owls. I’m happy with it & look forward to using it more. I’d def recommend it for identifying birds. It also connects to iBird Pro & you have the option of sharing your photo (if you have the copyright or permission to share) with the Developers for Internal Purposes. The app even opens your mail Program, writes the email, attaches the Photo & all you have to do is click send if you wish to share. Just tried with a few more common birds & results were excellent.
So easy and works like. Dream!

Says it all!
This is a handy app. Even recognises pics I take right off the back of my SLR. Identified a Swamp Sparrow for me yesterday that I might never have figured out on my own. Highly recommended.
The link to iBird pro for more info is an excellent resource.
Whether at home or in the field, iBird Photo Sleuth, in conjunction with iBird Canada, is a trustworthy and reliable companion. The first photo I ever tried was a blurry, digitally zoomed photo of a nondescript grey bird against a snow bank. In moments, iBird Sleuth had worked it’s magic and I was able to share that info with my family who were watching with me as well. I highly recommend this app for the beginner OR the experienced birder. You won’t regret the purchase.
