iBridge FAQ
Is iBridge free?
Yes, iBridge is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is iBridge legit?
⚠️ The iBridge app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I have another app for a security system at another house called
Alarm.com. IMHO Napco should try to incorporate some of this apps features and ease of use to help improve their app. My equipment will only work with iBridge. I might have gone to other equipment if I knew ahead of time what this app was like. Very disappointing.
State of the Art in 2008
This app being described as “state of the art” is laughable to anyone who has used an app in the last 15 years. The user interface is not intuitive, and the need to be in landscape mode is something I haven’t seen in at least a decade.
Beyond an outdated interface, the functionality ranges from lagging to broken.
In the lagging category, the app requires you to create contacts (for receiving messages, etc) in the app itself rather than just prompting you to give the app access to the Contacts app on your phone and selecting contacts from there. Simple iOS and Android APIs have been around for many years. It’s simply staggering that they’re not being used.
In the broken category, when you’re creating a contact (from scratch, unnecessarily per the above) the field for the contact’s cell phone provider defaults to Verizon and cannot be changed… not to AT&T nor T-Mobile nor any other carrier that comprise the 68% of US mobile users that are not on Verizon.
So the app doesn’t work for nearly 3/4 of the US population! But ask yourself this: when was the last time you had to specify your mobile carrier when subscribing to text/SMS notification?
Come on Napco - this is 2023. If your developers can’t even produce an app with functionality from the 2010s it may be time to hire any of the millions of developers who can…
Worst app ever !
APL is trash / will not connect / will not let you sign in. I have used a local alarm company for 20 years perhaps it’s time I go big box and get me something that I can actually control remotely
It Works
It’s by far the best app to control your alarm system, lighting, locks and thermostats. Those leaving negative reviews must be from the competition or do not understand the system.
Worthless app won’t connect to security system!
This app must not ever be updated to work with the latest iOS. I have been unable to connect to my system for a year now. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and it still won’t connect. My security company told me the only way to operate my system remotely is to get an entirely new system. My system is 3 only years old!! Make sure to ask your security installer which app they use and if it’s this one call another security company.
Defaults to Autofill
I can’t get the app to stop automatically logging in without prompting me for my password. I uncheck Remember Password and Auto Login, yet the app invariably overrides those choices. Seems like a pretty fatal flaw for a program whose whole point is to enhance security.
Great app
This app is a giant improvement over the old Star Link app. You go do anything from it that can be done from the Touch Pad. I couldn't ask for more.
I’m a alarm technician
The review I get from most people is “this app looks like a high school project” and you know what I give it a C+ because it does technically work… sometimes… but the real problem is Napco refuses to accept the future, all there panels are just sad 8bit only systems of yesteryear and when you talk to corporate they steadfastly say “we are aware of Alarm.com and other company’s and we will never be like them!” And they are proud of it. It’s sad really, they will be the next intrlogx and go under because they put there heads in the sand and refuse to listen… PS for those nerds who caught the 8bit reference it’s really what they still use and other company’s are using 8core processors running full 64bit…. Napco stop napping!!!
UI Needs a Major Overhaul
The app works, but the design of it is like something that was done 20 years ago. Not simple to use. I’d love an option to arm and disarm using Face ID rather than going through menus to then punch in my code.
Needs redesign
The app needs a complete overhaul. It’s that simple. UI and design elements are terrible.
I’ve since learned that when I remotely arm my security system and I select “away” the system actually arms it as “stay.” I don’t know if this is a UI bug or if the system is actually sending the wrong command. Either way, it’s ridiculous that the app has no product support.
