Extend your Smartphone, Sense the World. The iCelsius is a temperature probe that turns the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a digital thermometer.
IMPORTANT - Requires separate hardware available from http://www.icelsius.com to operate. The app can work in demo mode if no probe is connected.
Compatible with wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) iCelsius probes!
The current app downloaded from the App store will read temperature, create graphs and set up alerts.

A stainless steel tip makes it possible to measure liquid temperatures such as baby formula, cooking ingredients, wine, tea, household appliances and hundreds of other applications.
Can also be used in school or for teaching science, for equipment calibration, food quality control, cold chain control.
The application is constantly improved based on user feedback.

Hay personas que valoran negativamente esta aplicación porque necesita una sonda para ser de utilidad. Debe ser gente con muy pocas luces. Pero si es que lo principal de este invento es la sonda. Así, por ejemplo, puedes utilizar el iphone como termometro para cocinar. No vas a meter el iphone dentro de una masa o sumergirlo en agua o en un liquido que estes calentando para preparar un plato. Se trata de aprovechar las posibilidades tecnicas y de proceso del iOS para sacarle mas partido al control de las temperaturas en situaciones como las que se pueden dar en una cocina. Bravo por la idea.

Cannot be used for accurate temperature readings

I do not have a thermometer with me and google suggested to use this app, you can toggle from Celsius to Fahrenheit for easier understanding. It clocked me at 88° Fahrenheit. Obviously not accurate in the slightest. Do not recommend.
