Having only just started using iCompta there isn't much for me to comment on.
That said, I'd like to see reports handled in a more extensive way, e.g. percentages placed against the categories for a start. Some way of making them more detailed for further analysis.
However, my main reason for rating this app is that I had an issue today (turned out to be my own fault). Support from the developer was fantastic, fast and friendly. This, for me, has taken it from four stars to five.
Good but with major problems
Overall this is a very good app. I have the desktop version as well which is also great. My problem is the syncing. Firstly, no iCloud sync. Still. I'd really expect this to be included by now. Secondly, it's far too easy to lose transactions when syncing between iOS devices, or with the desktop version. Somehow the older version overwrites the newer one. This just shouldn't happen!
But for this I'd give iCompta another star at least, maybe even two, but it's caused me problems again and again and there seems no way to get my lost transactions back (on iOS at least). Frustrating!
Oh dear...........disappointment
Just downloaded based on reviews expecting good things. Created password, tick. Tried to add account and it goes to search transaction? Clicked on help question mark and got loads of iPhone screen prints overlaid, majority in French and not optimised for iphone..................Fail, delete, money back please.
Fantastic
One of the best packages I have used. Well worth 1.99. Will also buy the full mac version. Easy to use, difficult to put down .
iCompta
I have tried a number of finance programmes over the years. Initially with Quicken, then Microsoft Money and then with the release of the iPhone and then the iPad, a number of apps. I came across this a few days ago and at present I'd say it is the best I have come across. Very simple to set up, configure your categories and accounts and by using groups have sub categories where the subject is similar but you want separate entries in the same group - e.g. putting groceries and dining out under general house keeping. It works very well on the MAC. Having got the app for both my iPhone and iPad I have found it easy to use and backing up and syncing no problem it using Dropbox to sync. It takes a little digging to see how that is done - in fact a quick visit to the software writer's forum and you soon find the answer. A great bit of software, lots of clarity, presentation is good and its easy to use unlike many others. I have no problem giving this 5 stars.
iCompta
This really works for me, try it.
Best app on my ipad
This is the most used app on my iPad. I have now stopped using Microsoft Money and replaced it with Icompta. The balance evolution allows me to review the health of my bank account and allowed me to forecast when my mortgage will be paid off. Keep up the good work in development.
Excellent App
I have used many finance apps over the years. The iPhone has proved largely disappointing with people porting their apps over to the platform without ensuring quality. This app is excellent, the sync feature with the desktop app has so far worked flawlessly which I can't say for other apps I tried. I had a couple of questions when I migrated to this app which were both answered promptly and helpfully. My _only_ complaint is with scheduled transactions. I would like an easier method to bulk add these in advance (when pay day falls on a Saturday or Sunday I need to add all my scheduled transactions for the month on the previous Friday), but there is a way to do this - it is a bit more effort than I would like though. Definitely a 5 out of 5 app!
Great Apps
The closest I have come to yet for standalone iPad accounting.
Needs Work
I use iCompta on the Mac and had hoped for ease of use on a single screen with easy synchronisation. Nope, these features are sadly lacking. Unfinished and not worth risking my finances with. Will stick to Mac version and hope this developer tries harder
