iKanji - Learn Japanese Kanji

I'm really enjoying learning kanji with this app. It's my everyday habit and I can feel my progress when I can read more and more complicated kanji.

The app is really good. I bought it several years ago and works perfectly on my iphone 5. However, with my iphone 8 plus, the app is buggy. It won’t let me view other kanji, just the first one that i chose. Once i view a kanji, the app will keep showing it to me regardless of the kanji that I want to view. I can swipe to the left and right to view other kanji, but I have to close the app just to view the kanji’s on the other sets.

I only wish there was a way to turn off the cute backgrounds.

Its a great app. Worth the price. I just wish it will be a universal app, im using ipad mini and it will be great if it will be compatible on ipad.

This is a terrific app which I use all the time, I use it every day. However it would be great if we could use it with music during extended kanji sessions. Even with sound effects turned off in the settings in this app the music is always cancelled whenever an answer is selected. Please allow us to listen to music with this app by preventing the app from stopping playback of music. Thank you for the otherwise terrific app which has taken me all the way from N5 to N2 so far. *****

It's difficult to study if the app is always showing me the answer! Why can't it show just the kanji and then let me think about its meaning and reading and then when I'm ready I'll click on it to check if my answer is right! That's how it should be! I cannot make any improvements if its always showing me the answer! Or am I supposed to hide it with my fingers?! And why do I have to test the meaning and reading separately? I want to study them at the same time!

Overall it's a great app. I wish there was a iPad version and that the kanji compounds could be (optionally) included in the teach me mode.

Educational developers write for both devices. Please make an iPad version. PLEASE. If this is in the works please post it in the app description. Thanks

The app is based on Jim Breen's JDict files and as with all applications using it there are problems. I have only just acquainted myself with this app but in the first 20 characters (JLPT4) I have already found many mistakes. In the compound test, for example, I found about 5 mistakes in the readings. That is just in 20 of the most basic characters!! I like the interface on the whole but it's an app to help you learn an aspect of the Japanese language, if the CONTENT is DUBIOUS then it is a problem... Please take the time to verify that the content you use is accurate by referring to a dictionary that is not related to Jim Breen's.
