iKanji - Learn Japanese Kanji

It helps me with my JLPT prep very well, but it feels strange that there is no vocabulary test/quiz like there is for the kanjis.

My experience with this app is, at the time of writing, brief and my initial thoughts and impressions are very positive: the app teaches the kanji quite thoroughly, and has tests for each aspect of the kanji (meaning, on'yomi/kun'yomi, stroke order, etc), and it's separated into the different levels (JLPT/jōyō grades) so progression is consistent. You can save tricky kanji into separate practice or review lists so you don't have to keep testing on kanji you've already assimilated. However, I will say that, for me at least, the kanji stroke order animations became very quick, almost impossible to follow, so the stroke order tests were mostly guesswork (or ones I remembered from university). Also, as great as having tests on the separate parts of the kanji as individual tests, it would be great to have a mixed test too, for example, questions about meanings, readings, and stroke order all jumbled into a single practice space. But perhaps that's just me... Overall, I like it. Good job.

I paid for this app in good faith long ago, but since then the developer’s primary concern has been about pushing “updates” that do nothing more than expand IAP, even as long-standing, irritating bugs go unfixed. You have kanji revision cards missing readings that are then tested for, sets of “fully learned” characters which reset for no reason, etc., but fixing these take a back seat to getting you to pay for “Kanji Drawing Practice” and “Kana Chart”.

Very good app for revising Kanji and learning new ones. Definitely worth the cost. I use it every day to keep up my Kanji knowledge and expand on it while I learn the language. The only improvement would be the ability to test the Kanji in example sentences in compounds during the 'Teach me these Kanji' function.

£3 is a ripoff for a kanji only app. No vocab, grammar or listening.

Not only is the app brilliant for learning kanji, the authors also respond to bug reports promptly and then fix them!

This app is certainly very helpful for learning kanji, and I've definitely noticed myself being able to remember more thanks to using it. However, the stroke order tests are far too picky and half the time it will tell me I've got something wrong when clearly I haven't, I've just slightly missed the dot. Please fix it!

Excellent software to study kanji but the animation are really slow and laggy it takes forever to see the complex kanjis, please make them faster.

I wish this can teach grammar to see how the Kanji is put together in a normal Japanese sentence. But other than that. Make more good apps like this! I'm on this thing no less than 3 hours everyday. It's so addicting and worth the money!

I am a undergraduate of Japanese studies. This app alongside the "Japanese" are are my two beat tools. The practice set feature is very very useful, and the interface is slick and easy. Fantastic app, highly recommended! 5 stars
