Na jaren mediacenter en Kodi, ben ik in 2021 overgestapt naar Infuse Pro. Wat een verademing, alle bestandsformaten worden herkend, ondertitels staan er standaard in. Werkt op alle Apple apparaten in huis, via SMB gekoppeld aan m’n Synology nas. Erg blij mee, zou niet anders meer willen.

Jellyfin

So many annoyances when using Jellfin… if you’re looking for a good alternative, check out the Nplayer app. It also has a better working interface / UX.

Keeps getting worse, keeps taking your money

Used to work, but these days it keeps misidentifying files. I can’t select ‘use original metadata’ on Apple TV anymore either. He macOS version of the app doesn’t work. It keeps crashing.

Solid, but…

Let’s start by saying the video player itself is great! But… why can’t I specify both a local IP and an external IP for my Jellyfin library configuration? RIght now, I have to reconfigure the server every time I’m not at home (and vice versa). It’s annoying, and takes away from the otherwise great experience Infuse has to offer.

No casting and subtitle settings hidden

Unable to cast to my chromecast from the app. Great function is the direct connection to open subtitles, I love that. I just wish this functionality would be available with button directly in the play bar menu, instead of being so hidden away. There’s often a subtitle delay that changes throughout the episode. Too many clicks to get to the subtitle settings/

One of my few subscriptions. Installed on AppleTV and my iPad mini. Zero hassle accessing the contents of my QNap NAS - old codecs, new codecs, it just works. iLike 😊
