Needs some features
This app has potential to be absolutely awesome but I hate that I can’t see a history of things I’ve split. It would nice to keep track/history of things that have been split with the option to mark it as settled up or not.

This app makes it so easy to split a tab when you’re out with a lot of friends. I love that it gives you the option to send an itemized receipt to each person in your party with their specific items and the cost / tax / tip breakdown so it’s very to clear to everyone what they’re paying for. I got this app because I tried a different splitting app and it was not good at all. This app does everything I want it to and it also super cheap. Highly recommend everyone get this app!! Especially foodies and people with large friend groups.
My initial review (below) was negative, but the developer reached out to me and was very receptive to my issue. I found the wording of the in-app upgrade to be misleading, but they’ve offered to clarify it. As such, I’ve updated my review. The app still needs manual importing of receipts, but it is a really solid app and works well! I look forward to using it next time I eat out in a group. Original review: “IOU Pro” is not optional if you want to upload a receipt. The upgrade claims to unlock ‘unlimited’ receipt uploads, but the limit without paying is actually zero uploads. There is also no option for a lifetime unlock which unfortunately is a nonstarter for me.
I tried updating my previous “Has issues” review.. But, App Store won’t load it for me or allow me to delete it. So this is my UPDATE review- I downloaded a few different apps to use for my dinner events and this app is BY FAR the most accurate at reading receipts and doing the math! I left my previous review and reported some issues I found with splitting costs on line items and how the decimals move.. etc. And he responded immediately stating he will work on the issues and advise when complete. Even provided updates as he continued to work on the issues. And now both issues are resolved. And I love this app! Telling you- Best out there! I’ve tried them all. And frankly, if every app developer or support responded to feedback as quickly and actually fixed the issues like this developer did- We’d all have much better apps! So Eric also gets 5 stars in my book! I work as a software development project manager for manufacturing environments. I’d certainly hire Eric for my projects..
This is an okay app that could be great. First and foremost, its analysis of a sample receipt produced A LOT of erroneous fields that needed to be deleted. This coupled with the app's inability to apply negative values for discount line items makes it not much quicker than calculating by hand. Furthermore, there must be a calculation error when splitting the bill since a quick sum of everyone's total was almost a dollar shy of the real total. Please fix these issues. Finally, the app's tip calculation is simplistic and incorporates the sales tax rather than only the subtotal. Sales tax is already a percentage of the subtotal and is often >10% in some locales. Therefore, tipping on the total rather than the subtotal inflates the the selected tip percentage by more than you’d think. I've been using “Tip Calculator +++” by Aaron Jubbal for years since it accounts for this. Including this functionality would make “IOU: Easily Split Your Tab” the perfect app! Looking forward to future versions!
There are a couple issues I have had. One is that if you don't enter tax it pops up telling you to fix. I'm currently in Oregon where there is no tax so this is an issue. There are a few other minor issues but overall it is pretty awesome.
Finally an app that makes splitting the bill so easy !!!
