IpCam Reviews

Very good - Works well :)

This is so close to a 5 star app and to be fair it does do what the developer claims, and does it well. Well worth downloading. Big thanks to the developer. The main reason for not getting 5 stars is because of the auto rotation feature, and the inability to switch it off. Very few camera viewer applications are able handle aspect ratio changes on the fly so this feature could also be classed as a bug that renders this app unusable in the real world. Using a mobile phone as a camera source is because we need it to be mobile :)

Abandonware, but it works

This hasn’t been updated for many years and doesn’t support the iPhone 5 screen size or even properly support exiting the app and going back into it where you left off. It does however work really reliably and for extended periods. I’ve had an iPod 4 acting as a security camera for weeks with no intervention.

To Complicated to Setup

Don't waste your money. Could not find any easy set-up instructions for ipCam and ICam after searching for over an hour.

Not as good as it sounds

I purchased this and a sister app from the same developer hoping to turn my iPad into a web security camera to record video. The app only allows you to view a webcam from certain suppliers or through the iSight camera on the Mac via the iCamSource download. I was hoping to use the iPad as a camera and my iPhone to view, this simply doesn't work. So... I contacted the developers and asked about a refund and was told no. Not only this, but the sister app is also the same... You can only view the video via a computer and not via iPad/iPhone. To top it off, this doesn't record video... It records a large quantity of JPeg files. Not useful when there are over 1000 images to click through. The idea is great, the reality is still not quite ready yet.

I wanted a solution to use an old iPhone as an ip webcam for some blackbirds nesting in front of my window, this does the job perfectly. Once I had set my router correctly I was able to view the cam remotely using the external IP address address. Has been running 24hrs now with no issues

Don't install does not work after many attempts, no instructions, no recording timer so you cannot tell if it's working although it says it automatic, there was no recording anywhere on the iPad! Waste of time and energy!

You're actually up and running on this in seconds, it really is that simple and that good!! I was skeptical at first if it would even work, but it so does. There are some nice features there and if it could a few bits more like 'security mode" where it could take a snap shot at regular intervals and store or even mail them to me it could be perfect.. Great work guys, i have loads of ideas to help this do a bit more - but for now - I'm going to see how many I can sell for you by demoing this to my mates and work colleagues.
