Description

Dissatisfied with the official Quicken iOS apps and only need to enter receipts on-the-go? Looking for a solution for entering Gnucash transactions on the go? iQIF is perfect for you. We now support importing of .gnucash XML export of Accounts!
iQIF allows you to effortlessly create transactions on your iOS device and when ready, export them via a QIF file which can be imported by Quicken, GnuCash or any other money managing application. It is NOT a bloated pocket version of a money managing application, but simply a mobile transaction-creating interface (i.e. it does not sync both ways with Quicken). Hopefully others will have found this as useful as I have. Please note that your desktop finance application must be able to import QIF files.
KNOWN ISSUES:
- PLEASE VERIFY YOUR VERSION OF QUICKEN CAN IMPORT QIF FILES BEFORE PURCHASING. There are some newer versions where Intuit has been trying to deprecate the use of the QIF format in favor of the proprietary OFX format. DOES NOT WORK WITH QUICKEN ESSENTIALS.
*** PLEASE CONTACT ME PERSONALLY WITH PROBLEMS BEFORE GIVING UP ON iQIF - Unfortunately I cannot contact those who leave reviews expressing dissatisfaction, but in many cases I might have been able to remedy the issue and possibly help others having the same issue. ***

The default gnucash app doesn't work well, and I just dont have time to download the source and debug it. This app works well if you need to add your transactions to gnucash but dont want to wait till you get home.

Great for travel, email slow

This app is great for keeping track of my transactions when I’m on travel for work. My only problem is when I export the transactions and email them to myself, I never know how long it takes before I actually receive the qif file. (Currently waiting at least 30 minutes for my last export. )

If you think it might be good for you, just get it

The developer is super responsive and always wanting to make his app better here. The app is nearly perfect for my use case - as my mobile companion to GNUCash. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and spotted a couple bugs and Eric squashed them very quickly.

Too simple

The app gives very little customizing once you import categories, accounts etc. For my use I only need to enter transactions from 6 accounts. Credit cards, cash, debit etc. But once you import accounts you cannot delete ones not being used. Same goes for categories. Also seemingly no way to enter split transactions. Once transactions are exported everything is exported into a single file. Quicken 2007 (yes 2007) does not accept multiple accounts importing from single qif file. This app will likely be a bust for me as in all of its simplicity it misses the mark on very basic stuff.

Super Amazing!

I use this in conjunction with CheckBook Pro. Especially useful since all my accounts, categories and payees can be easily imported to iQIF. Love it!

Works effectively for all its intended to do except for directions on how to upload data from iPhone to Quicken. Instructions should be spelled out, step be step.

Fairly useless

Doesn’t sync transactions from qif file so you have no way when out and about to know if you’re about to enter a transaction that will cause accounts to go negative. If it synced transactions I would say this app is worth paying for.

Great companion for GnuCASH

I use this to track cash transactions during the day, then import them back into GnuCASH. It works great. In addition, I asked for a change in the way a default was set to save me a few extra clicks during data capture, and it was rolled out within a week. Sweet!

Still great, but...

While I still love the app, memos are not imported into gnucash unless BOTH memo and split memo are entered. This includes when there is no real split.

Great Ap for On the Go Data Entry

The developer of iQIF is extremely helpful, and the this ap works great as a way to log transactions on my phone for later import into my accounting desktop software.
