JD Gyms

For a big company like JD it is appalling that after 90+ gyms they have not bothered to give an app that is more than a key card. Surely the gyms make enough money to get ACTUAL developers to make an app that is fully functional and useful. You have to go onto Google maps to see the estimate of how busy the gym could be. You can’t even book classes in advance. Utterly useless!! And let there not be no WiFi in the gym or else you’ll just be locked in. If I could give it zero star I would!

Not letting me sign in on the app but does online

2nd time going to the gym, with no warnings about this I scan my code too quickly after someone and now I’m locked out while my mates have gone in to work out! This was never a problem at PureGym as it just reset and let you scan again… and at JD if you forget something in your car don’t bother getting it as you will be locked out for an unknown time due to no early re-entry

Works fine, nothing special. Would be great to get access to the app via Apple Watch so I can visit the gym without my phone.

What a waste. This app has little value other than entry and exit to the gyms. The landing page has been blank since I first joined well over a year ago go with the works ‘Fitness Feed Coming Soon’. It doesn’t even track your gym visits, never mind progress and workouts etc. No class or PT info, no community and no branch info, messages, announcements etc.

Had me stuck outside the building at 12am because I had gone to the gym 3 hours previously

Bad interface, QR codes don't generate because there's rarely service in the gyms, long response times from head office when you submit a form or email regarding an issue, don't get emails if you forget your passwords. Not user friendly compared to other commercial gyms that have alternatives in place if your point of access fails.

Many people would like to visit the gym without their phone. Please can we have an Apple Watch app

I paid £60 even though it should of been £21.99 because I missed a payment and then I got fined £15 which may of been my fault but they decided to charge the month before that £21.99 even though I got an offer for £5 and paid for it so I had to pay £26.99 for one month. Another bad thing is that if you want to cancel your membership, it takes 30 days so they are squeezing another month of payment out of you.The support line to help me was terrible and was an AI giving obvious advice which is disappointing as I expected a real human to discuss my payment options. Quite shocking as the Gym is very clean and big and has a lot of good facilities.

This app is absolutely pointless. All it does is show the QR code of your PIN. You can just make your own and use that to scan in and out. The signal in my gym is poor so the app barely functions so I’ve ditched this and use my own QR
