When this ap came out originally it was great! Loooved it. Now as the update there are issues with new features. You can loose your document,invoice, contract if an error message appears that will not allow you to save it. Then you need to start from scratch. Online chats for help is useless. And you can only access help business hrs. While your document is about to be deleted due to error messages. No longer a fan at all. If it worked the way it is supposed to it’s a great asset. There are issues they need to address. Ready for a change!
They started and ended a referral program with the quickness of not paying!!!
You deleted all my information and would not let me get to it unless I payed your subscriptions.
I have been using this app since 2015. I am sure in my original review I gave this apps a 5 star review. . . not anymore. The original free version had no limits and you got all features, they have slowly taken features away and made them “premium”. This didn’t bother me much as I only need the app for basic invoicing. So now I am deeply rooted in this platform . . .going on 9 years worth of 100’s invoices and they have now through a slow process of taking features away systematically over time made this app pretty much a useless tool unless I pay them a minimum of 13.99 per month or 139.34 per year to get more than 5 documents per month. Yes the developer response will tell me about the wonderful other features that come along with that fee. . .I don’t want or need those features so save the response time Brendan. If 9 years ago I had chosen this app based on having a monthly fee ok, but I used it for 9 years and got totally invested in the platform and now have to pay. . .just to have more than 5 documents per month. . .absolutely ridiculous! Update: The Joist company continues spiraling down the hole! No free version at all and they actually are denying me any access to my previous years invoices unless I pay a fee! If you want to be a sleazy company and take away something that was free for 15 years ok but to charge me to access what is rightfully mine goes to a totally different level of scum. I’m not even sure why this is a legal practice. Apparently greed and desperation has taken this company over. . .give it a few years and quickbooks will gobble this company up.
Monthly subscription is absolutely ridiculous, I make my own invoice/ estimate templates and KNOW when I email them or text them. Sure the paid versions somewhat tell you when a message is read but guess WHAT, I HAVE HAD INVOICES NOT SEND WHEN THE SAY SENT!!! Which resulted in DAYS of not getting paid til I talk with the client and RE EMAIL a invoice for a dirty monthly subscription invoice app. Used to be free and a pro version that was not monthly… My clients would rather Venmo me then put their card through this app.. When you have used up your free trial it locks you completely out and asks you to delete, luckily I had client info stored elsewhere or I would have had to go out of my way to get the info again. SHADY!
Have used this app for awhile now & never had to pay, dont get why now i cant even login without picking a plan. This is a joke, you get $ from amount of subscribers, if wanted or needed the extra you offer would of upgraded in past. Looks like ill use contractor tools app now, joke.
I have used this platform for many years and sometimes considered if it was worth $13 a month to have my logo or attach pictures on estimates. I know in the past they have been profiting $ from different angles within the App but now it is just disgusting greed. Joist started limiting what you can edit to 5 a month (they even counted against your 5 if you moved dates etc) and I thought that was garbage. Now I am locked out of years of personal client information unless I pay $15 a month. Joist was a simple platform that collected information for years. They are now a joke of a company that is greedy and completely bent over all longtime users. I would tell anyone to think long term about who you set in front of your clients. Hopefully not Joist.
Out of the blue started charging been using them since the start. Greedy business antics to up charge your customer knowing you have all of your invoices stored on the app. Shady way of doing business. I loved the app now not anymore if you want to pay for 5 invoices a month go ahead. But beware.
Have been using for years and always loved it. Now you have to pay for it and I can’t access my account anymore until I do. Moving on to one of the many other FREE apps
